According to this site Dolphins have the worst fans in the NFL.

Again, go tell that to the fan base in Green Bay. They weren't always this successful team. In fact they were one of the losingest [sic] teams the nfl had ever known before the recent turnaround.
There was a Guy named Vince that lit the fire in GB and built something special decades ago and although they have had ups & downs I don't think you will find the Fins level of mediocrity on the resume.

I am sick of hearing how bad of fans we are. Put a decent product on the field that we can be proud of and we will show up. A fan can only watch so much loosing before it spends its money on something else (Miami Heat). If your team is not very good it helps to have a few players people want to spend their money on to watch. Who do we have that people are really excited about? When we had Marino people showed up. When we had Ricky people showed up.

Why don't you? My reply was to the fact the packers resume has had many more years of mediocrity than the fins, not attendance figures.

Nope. I've got nothing to prove. I don't think there is a huge difference between our fanbase during the "lean" years, and any other team in a similar drought of wins. (10 plus years of mediocrity, 5 plus coaching changes, and 15 plus qB changes).

I hate everything about this article.....mainly because I live in Buffalo and all my friends are posting this article. I mean yeah this dude who runs a blog his say means something. Well in that case I will go off sales at Victorias Secret because the dolphins are top ten (can it, my gf shops there)....his opinion means absolutely nothing.

at this point, can we please stop blaming the fans for lack of support? I mean really, 10 seasons of crap, nearly 30 years an no superbowl appearance, the fans didn't cause that, the team has let the fans down.

This.

Why wont certain folks realize this?

We have smart fans down here....that won't waste money in mediocrity.

I have feeling if a lot of these fans posting here, came down here to live, they wouldn't spend a damn dime going to games! Its just really easy to blame the fans, when you are living in another city on a Fan Forum! All you need to use is the excuse:

Well, if I lived there, I would go!

Well then, common down! Help us fill the stadium! MIAMI welcomes you with open arms!

My post is directed at posters who constantly bitch about us down here. For those of us who do go to the games, it gets to a point where you are insulting us as a city.

dude don't even go there. I've been to four games in Miami, and spent close to 800 or more each game. Don't question out of state fans dedication.

Did you read last part?? My post is directed at posters who constantly bit** about us down here. You definitely don't fall in that category man.

By the way, these threads would have NEVER existed during the Orange Bowl years, and early-mid Marino years. Hell, even late Marino years, the stadium was packed, but you could start seeing the decline.

Disagree with this entirely. Miami is a front-running town. You saw it in the Atlanta game when we got to 3-0. The stadium was full. It was loud. Then the wheels fell off the team. Win and they will come. It is what it is. It's not great support, but when the team is good there will be rears in the seats.

Yes, but Jacksonville puts more fans in the stands than Miami does. Everyone else does. Sure, if the Dolphins start winning the stadium will be full. But just lose a game or two and it'll be empty again. I understand when people say "we don't want to support a loser", but heck, everyone else seems to be more supportive of a losing team. It's not like we have the worst franchise of the last ten years or any other period. We simply don't. The sorry sods at Buffalo, Jacksonville, Oakland and others come to mind as clearly worse off in any time period you name.

The Miami fanbase may want to feel smarter than others, but it simply doesn't have the love for the team. They love a winner and they'll take it at any sport that gives them one. If it's the Dolphins, fine. If it's any other team, fine. Good or bad, that's the way it is.

Fins fans travel well.

Always big outing at road games.

Local games are always the issue. I know its beatinga dead horse but the stadium is not located for optimal attendance.

Middle of no-where, no public transportation to the game, basically half way between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale so one would expect to get fans from both parts but not working out that way.

So if the Dolphins win 10+ games the next 5 straight years, will people suddenly not care about where the stadium is located?
