Miami just likes to win....we don't tolerate putting up with a losing team. Why? We can literally do so many other things.

Thats not even me speaking, cause I don't do much of anything, but the options are there if I wanted. If you lived in Green Bay or Buffalo, what the hell else are you going to do on a Sunday?

Some places are made to be sports towns because of the culture of the area....Miami's culture is like a giant detour away from sports.

at this point, can we please stop blaming the fans for lack of support? I mean really, 10 seasons of crap, nearly 30 years an no superbowl appearance, the fans didn't cause that, the team has let the fans down.

It is all about the 10 season s of crap. I did a poll on here last year about when you became a fan. The Dolphins are not building a new fan base. The fans that become fans in the 80s and 90s are tired and pissed off.

Not surprising. And that's exactly it, there is no fan base being built. That's why the voices heard are on the negative side, because it's just us, and we're tired.

I think it starts from the top down, just like when we had no real basketball here that anyone cared about, and Pat Riley came, and built a championship. Not just a championship, but a legit organization. We need that, and after several years of Ireland we're not sure we have the right manager, and after a second season with Philbin/Sherman, we're unimpressed. We may need to rebuild starting at the top, not in the locker room.

I'm not demanding scrap it and start over, but results themselves may force the issue. Depending on how the season ends. All I know is, right now, Tannehill is better than Henne, and Philbin is better than Sparano, and Sherman/Henning are a wash. But that's all. To say anything more than that, means I have to see more. When I see it, I'll be the first one to say I see it.

I am really beginning to hate Miami fans. Such casuals.

It is the fans fault that the product has been crap for the last fifteen years.

Seriously, football is entertainment. When they put a product on the field that is worth watching then I'll start going back to the games. Don't try to sell me crap by claiming that it is fertilizer. And don't give me the same "it takes time" garbage that we've been hearing for the last fifteen years. Harbaugh in San Francisco and Reid in Kansas City shows that this is a lie from hell coming out of incompetent front offices trying to sell us the same old crap we've been watching the last fifteen years.

There are many ways to look at fan support. I'm from FL and live in KY now and have since 1971. I continue to support the team and attend all the games scheduled against the Titans in Nashville. I see a large fan base supporting the Dolphins at those games. I sat next to a family that drove to the game from OH to see the team play. The team does have a large national fan base and like the local fan base we are wanting to see the team get back to where it once was. I think there is too much fuss about stadium attendance and winning does have a great deal of influence on attendance. In Nashville the Titan fans use the game as a social event as well as a football game since not much else is going on in the area. I suspect the same goes on in Green Bay and Buffalo. Sometimes I would rather not watch a game because losing messes up the rest of the day! lol

Fans are "tired", the product has been "crap for the last 15 years", "must love mediocrity"... that's all good and fine. What I want to know is why other franchises with even worse performance have much better attendance.

The Bengals, Lions, Chiefs, Browns and Bills all have not won a single playoff game since 1995 or earlier. Dallas has only one in that span. You want to do it by overall W/L record? The Dolphins aren't in the bottom ten. In fact, they're not even below .500 in this period.

So why are Dolphin fans in Miami so apathetic? Maybe fans of other teams love their team more because they don't have other city teams and as many other things to do in their cities. Maybe they love the game of football more. Or maybe they're simply not as pissed at their team because they're humbler and they don't have a sense of entitlement. I don't know. But I'm pretty sure it's not because they love mediocrity more.

why don't you move the line to 2001 and after. the dolphins for the most part weren't bad to watch from 1995-2001, we were at least in the playoff picture and had marino for 4 of those years. Talk to me about post 2001 and see which of those teams has had at better shot at the playoffs. Also as far as the browns are concerned, I doubt their attendance is that much better, and you're talking about a city that lost it's team and fought passionately to get it back. The browns are a different franchise. they have at times embraced losing and the paper bag. You need look at more than just the numbers to understand what the numbers actually mean.

In addition to all of this you have to look at the alternate entertainment opportunities available in these cities. When push comes to shove the cities listed have few entertainment alternatives. If you want fans to show up in a competitive entertainment environment then you need to put a quality product on the field. Period.

Yeah, I mentioned entertainment options, but what on earth do you mean move the line to 2001? Those teams I mentioned haven't won any playoff games since 2001 and they haven't won any since 1995 and some of them haven't won since 1991. But you want me to move the line to the year after we last won a playoff game? That makes sense. Perfectly objective cutoff point! :p

But suppose we do. We still don't have the worst performing franchise of the last 12 years by W/L record and we do have the worst attendance in the league.

I said move the line because we won a playoff game in 1999, and it's not an apples to apples comparsion if you include a year where we won a playoff game since 1995. but hey, its your throw some crap to the wall and see if it sticks comparison, not mine.

Choose any cutoff point you want. 10 years, 7, 5, 1, 11, 20, 25, 50. We'll never be the worst team in the NFL by any common measure.

Can somebody please tell me when was the last time the Miami Dolphins played some really exciting football? I have to go back to 1994. And most of the regimes over the last 10 years have not been media friendly. They have shown a certain level of arrogance. And for a franchise that has done nothing in 20 plus years, many fans have been turned off.

The story has yet to be written about how much Dave Wannstedt destroyed this franchise with his ireland-like inability to draft and develop talent.

I personally move the line to 2004, when his ineptitude coupled with william's drug problem sent this team into a tumble it had never seen. This team usd to be BANK at home in September, now we are used to 0-4 to start the season most of the time. That 4-12 disaster was followed by years of constant poor drafting... and a 2-year digression into the absurd caused by a liar who refused to sign Brees when we had a chance.

The team has had clowns overlapping one another. wannstedt. satan. parcells. sparano. ireland. The Ring of Dishonor.
