AFC East 2005

Better on paper??

Thats not even true.

Aside from TE and DE we are better or equal at every position.
On paper Saban is better than Wanny, Linehan is better than that porn addict they had for an OC last year and Houck is better than whatever they had.

I gotta give them the benefit of the doubt that "potentially", they do have a better coaching staff than last year but potential isn't fact. FTP talks like it is so even though a snap hasn't been made yet. He forgot the redskins had an all pro line-up and HC (Spurrier) who was just as successful as Saban...in College. Didn't get them anywhere.

Did Spurrier win a Nat'l Championship, I can't remember, I know Spurrier didn't have NFL experience like Saban, and he didn't use the NFL type draft in College like Saban, and he's D coach unlike Spurrier, so there's some hope of a better outcome that Spurrier.

Yes, Spurrier did.

I haven't disagreed that Saban potentially makes your team better. However , he is in the AFCE where the other teams already have a headstart in terms of playing in their respective systems while Saban and co. are practically in a rebuilding mode. Like I said potential doesn't mean "automatic success".

Not even Bellichick made playoffs in his first year as a HC and Saban was his DC, right?

I agree with you on that, I'm hoping that the extra time Saban gets as a new coach helps the players get on board faster. I think your new coach had success his first year and completed almost enough to get you guys into the playoffs. I'm hoping that the vet. group Saban's inherited makes it a little easier.

I thought you meant better than the Bills.

No doubt the Phins are a better team than last year, at least off the field. They still haven't got a RB, they still haven't got a line, and they still have LB's that are pretty old. They'll

They could be anywhere from 4-12 to 8-8 IMO.

If they take a QB and trade Surtain they'll be at the low end. If they take a RB and keep Surtain they'll be at the high end.

pats will be 12-4

jets 10-6
bills8-8
miami 7-9

the dyNEsty isnt quite over.....

pats have more motivation this yr then ever, win it all without the 2 coords, and the biggest thing will be to be 1st team ever to win 3 in a row....

after the pats 3peat in Detroit I think you will see a different champ for a few years, which sux becuase i want to see the Pats win it all on the phins home field in 2007 SB that would be sweet

That's because he didn't change the system. He just didn't ask his players to do what they couldn't do unlike Gilbride. Kept the same DC. His downfall was that he inherited Drew which limited his passing game.

Isn't Saban gonna make your vets play a different system? Maybe it will make your team better or maybe it will be hard on the vets having to learn something new. That remains to be seen.

Belichick is a crappy coach, his OC.DC made him what he is. He was crappy before they came along, he'll be crappy after. He may have schemes, and evaluate talent well, but who do you think did the motivating around there? Do you think they played for emotionless Belichick, or the coaches they actually spent time with?

 Yeah. You're so much better on paper. You can be paper champions if you want.

I'll take facts :D.

At least you can link the word Champions to us, your sorry team has never won anything. If you think four stright AFC titles is great then you don't get the concept of playing to win, because when it's all said and done, people laugh at the Bills for losing four stright SB's not winning four stright AFC title games. I'll promise you, your not enjoying your four SB losses as much as we are, and I'll bet we enjoy our two SB back to back and one undefeated victorys far more then you enjoy your four stright SB loses or four stright a AFC Titles. So you just keep talking because all I read when you write is jealousy and fear. But what can you expect from fans of a team that no matter which way the wind blows from their gum flaping they've never won a damn thing and this year will be another year of frustraction and pain, but you should be used to it.

The O is changing completely, the D will be expanded.

That's why I hope people don't jump all over AJ at the beginning of the season. He's learning just like the rest of the O..but I think this O is better equipped to take on blitzes and check offs, that year's O had no check offs, so you paid the price if the receiver didn't get open quickly, AJ didn't play the final game because of that.
