AFC East Quarterback Rankings

I was told Eli is elite b/c he has 2 SBs, I brought up Plunkett b/c he has 2 SB wins too so it's a valid comparison.

Really not much of a comparison because Eli looked like an elite QB in both games, unlike Plunkett that looked ok against Philly, and ok against the Redskins.

No Victor Cruz and the Giants don't make the playoffs last year so yeah there was one player. Cruz carried them the last 2 weeks of the reg season, w/o his great play they don't even make the playoffs. Remember, that team missed the TWO previous postseasons.

You mean the way the Pats took Victor Cruz away in the SB, yet the Giants still won? A Good QB will find his go to WR to help him, and Elite QB you can take away one of his weapons, and he will find another.....Eli lost his best weapon in both SBs, and still made the play using less used receivers.

sorry we didn't get 5-6 dead teams to end '08 and no Brady. The '09 Jets made the AFC Championship Game, did so again in '10 and are the only team in the last 3 years to reach 2- that's elite.

'07, '08 and '09 would have been 3 seasons w/o a postseason- we made it in '06.

but we made it in '09 so our streak was only 2 years, the longest drought since '95-'97. Miami broke their 6 year drought in '08 and picked up where they left off a year later as this year will be 4 and counting:lol:

No just 3 dead teams in a row, the same one organically 2X and one by choice.. and then you got the chokers. Indy starters vs Jest Starters from Dec 09-Jan '10: 45-27 including 24 unanswered points in 31 minutes when it counted most. Nothing to write home about, let alone claim as "good" ...sorry for the reality check:idk:

I usually hate responding to trolls, but I need to address this. You also had "no Brady," a ****ty Bengals team, a ****ty Raiders team, a ****ty Chiefs team, a ****ty Rams team, a ****ty Broncos team, a ****ty 49ers team, a ****ty bills team, a really ****ty seahawks team, and an apparently overrated Dolphins team. You had the same "easy" schedule as us. You just failed to take advantage of it. Maybe if you stuck with Pennington...

Junc how in the world does playing in two AFCCG in 3 years earn elite status but leading 2 game winning drives in the SB in the last 4 years doesn't?

Your definition of elite seems to be not only flexible but homered and full of hatred as well.

I actually saw Plunkett play several times in the Coliseum in '83 (including one of the early season games where he beat our Fins), and in '84; to compare him to Trent Dilfer is as delusional as comparing Sanchez to Philip Rivers. :idk:
I agree but I think he is trying to compare the result because there is no comparing the players.

ughhh junc sucks and sanchez sucks

just wanted to keep this 20 pages

It's not about wining more SBs, he's won enough, it's about playing at a consistent elite level which he has NEVER done.

I bet he can retire right this second and be very content with the career he had. Anything additional from now on is just icing on the cake.

Not probably, definitely. In 2008 the Jets make an SB run with Penney. The had a great Oline, solid running game and good defense. The biggest problem with the 08 Jets is the QB turned the ball over much. Take that away and who knows.

You act like Victor Cruz throws to himself. He wouldn't have had the season he had without Manning. Yeah I get that Cruz took a few passes to the house but let's not act like that isn't a play that happens in the NFL.

Miami being average has nothing to do with the Jets not being elite. But continue to talk **** about the Dolphins by all means to try and mask your ultimate being a homer.

Trust me, what you said isn't going to keep this thread going. Every thread ends up this way no matter what anyone says.

Agree 100% about Cruz. In 2010 I seem to remember the Jets winning many games in crunch time. I remember more than once Sanchez throwing a quick slant to Holmes and Holmes taking it a long way for either a td or FG range. I hate it when big plays are thrown out because at the end of the day an offense in trying to score on every play. I can't stand the old, "well I realize RB x averaged 7 ypc but if you take away the 60 yard run he averaged 2, the defense wasn't bad". BS, if you ask me. If a defense gives up 7 ypc they sucked end of story.

You have to give equal credit to both Cruz and Manning. The guy had 9 TDs in the regular season with a 7.4 yards after the catch average. That right there is proof it wasn't all 5 yd outs he scored on.

Just to be clear, I agree with you.

You could also say he started to play well once he settled into the offense. No offseason, no first team reps and thrown to the wolves after Henne got hurt. Does take some time to get comfortable with the players around you and build some chemistry.

Hell, Snatcho has had 3 years and is still one of the worst QB's in the league.

Wonder what junk is gonna do when Snatcho is benched for the incredibly crappy Tebow in about week 5.... ROFLMFAO!!!!

He will find a way to spin it, that it was everyone fault but Sanchez.
