vt_dolfan said:No hes not comparing Feeley to Steve Young...but have you ever had a chance to look at Steve Youngs numbers his first two years???
1985 Bucs 5/5 72 138 52.2 935 3 8 56.9
1986 Bucs 14/14 195 363 53.7 2282 8 13 65.5
Started 14 games in 1986 had 8 TD's and 13 INT's with a 65.5 rating.
I wonder..if there was the Internet and a fan forum at that time...how many of you would look at those numbers...and dare to say Steve Young might go down as one of the greatest QB's ever to play the game.
You might have glimpsed Young's games individually and saw their was some potential there. You might have noticed the lack of playmakers around him in Tampa. You might have said...hmm...lets give him a chance.

PassRush said:It should not be a question and to be honest I dont think it is a question anymore. Feeley is young with a ton of upside. Ferotte is on the outs of his career and was brought in because he knows the system so if AJ were to go down, our season in not necisarily over.
A bit on topic, if any of you were expecting Brock Berlin to come in and make some noise in minicamp, sorry, he didnt

adamprez2003 said:Also I agree that Feeley is not "guaranteed" anything and I too want the best QB to start whether its Frerotte or Feeley. I am simply stating my impressions of what will play out in training camp. As for everyone having an equal shot that is what you would expect a coach to say in our situation.
Saban, like anybody else in his position, is going to have an idea of who he wants to start and he's going to let training camp play out to either reenforce his view or change it.
I just don't believe he would have gone into the season thinking that Frerotte was going to be his starter.
TARHEEL38 said:He is getting his shot, it is called TRAINING CAMP!!! If he can't win the job, it shouldn't be giving to him. Agreed. I just don't see Gus beating him out.
adamprez2003 said:I am not about to search the web for quotes from two years ago. I am assuming that you have been following football for more than one year and if you have you will remember that Feeley was considered the best young prospect available.

I guess that is what makes this time of year fun. I guess we will see![]()

One thing that always bothered me was how people used to say Jay should have been so used to the offense b/c he had been here 5 years, but in 4 of those years he got different O cordinators. Now AJ is here and instead of people saying he should know it they are still using the same lame excuse in reverse. It can't work both ways.
True Gus worked under the new O Cord. but which is it that matters, working under the system or with the team? Jay always was expected to play perfectly b/c he played with the same players, now it is the cordinator that matters hmmmm, just food for thought![]()
