Yeah 53 Brian hartlines all in isn’t gonna take you anywhere if they don’t have talent

There’s a fine line talent and love of the game. I can find a lot of guys that love the game who lack talent

Mike hull for instance I’m sure lives the game and dedicates himself to it but at the end of the day his “talent level” gets you beat on Sunday’s

biggest hole in ajayis game is vision...it's pretty average

but he sets a tone that few can match and we traded him for less return than that Kenyan drake pick
I was watching the game last week and told my girlfriend ...damn that’s the one thing I hate about Ajayi he picks the wrong running lanes a lot. so you hit the nail on the head with vision issue, I thought it was just me.

I’m gonna go ahead and say that with or without Ajayi and maybe we do see less 10 man boxes going forward maybe we don’t the end results at the end of the day are gonna be wildly inconsistent and low level of the offense as a whole because of the qb play...

Wow, I just noticed that the bills got Bejamin? So they get a good WR for a 3rd round pick which means they still have like 15 picks in the first two rounds too but we have t-dumb running our team

Ozzy rules!!

I'm not so sure thats a good deal for the bills

Everyone wants to point to his stats from last year and scream inconsistency since he dominated a handful of games and was pedestrian in the others. That's an overly simplified view and in today's NFL almost no backs outside of the Ezekiel Elliot, Adrian Peterson (in his prime), Marshawn Lynch (ditto) who are statistically dominant week in and week out. That's because when a RB has dominant potential he's going to be the focal point of the defense, and when the box is stacked the defense is gonna have a good chance at stopping the run as long as they execute but they are vulnerable to the pass. It's no coincidence that our young QB had his best season last year when the team finally had a potentially dominant RB. Also, when you have an ineffective passing offense that can't capitalize on the defense at all, it's going to give the defense every opportunity to tee off on the running game.

Basically, it's way too easy to look at a 22 carries for 65 yards statline and say the RB didn't do his job but if the opponent went all out to stop the running game then it opens up opportunities for the passing offense. If you have a good enough passing game to capitalize, you are going to win football games.

Ajayi's physical run style is 2nd to none, but if you cant hit a hole and get us a consistent 3 or 4 yards on 1st or 2nd down, then you aren't going to be in the upper echelon of NFL backs. Too many 2nd and 10's or 3 and longs, with a few wasted rushing plays getting there. I probably wouldn't have traded Ajayi considering our poor QB play this year, but I can understand why Gase ousted him. His stock is going down this year too, so better to do it now then try to trade him before the draft.

Not sure I agree with this...the teams you mention, those RB's are going against stacked boxes PLENTY. You can add Gurley, Fournette, Anderson and Howard to that list too. These are very productive and consistent backs going up against stacked defenses. And I'm not just talking consistency in production, I'm also talking consistency in how they play.

If they wanted extra picks, they should have traded down in the first round. Even if getting rid of a beast RB made sense, which it doesn't, their draft ability makes this a lose lose. This had nothing to do with A'jayi, who Gase did not like from the start, despite running him to into the ground like Wanny did with RW. The was more like Philbin getting rid of anyone who stood up to him. Amature coaches don't know how to handle opinionated players and in the end they fail and become coordinators again.

That’s a fair point the best example is probably Howard but let me counter with each of those teams either have a qb or a unit be it defense for example that is better than miamis.

The exception being chicago where trubisky is already better than any qb we have fielded this year

Anderson in Denver suffers from qb and oline play but that d is legit and he’s splitting carries

In Jax the d is carrying that team and allowing them to hide the qb and live with the run game due to the scoreboard

My thoughts on Ajayi being traded are fucc em,cant attach feelings to players in this league.I believe he cares more about personal accolades than winning.
The london game was a prime example of that.I think drake needs the ball hes a stud.I guarantee he rushes for more yards than Ajayi the remainder of the season.

Gurley? What a horrible example. He didn't have a single 100 yard game last year. Fournette? He's had three good games and three meh or terrible ones. Not consistent and at any rate there is scarcely a track record to go on and teams don't have enough of an idea of his NFL game to scheme against. Howard may be doing something right, I'll gave you that. I know of no running back named Anderson who is consistent week in and week out. I know of a guy in Denver who occasionally has a good game, splits time, and is constantly on the verge of being replaced by guys like Devonta Booker until those guys prove they suck. Those RB's I mentioned do go against stacked boxes and are successful. They are or were the best in the league, but even Zeke has the huge benefit of a great offensive line AND a passing game that has been consistent from the get go with Dak Prescott.

Some coaches are able to convince players to buy into what they're selling and some coaches have to trade away their best talent. Which one is Gase?
I thought it was more complicated than that. I'm glad there are only two types.
