Alex Marvez: Don't count on Luck playing for 'train-wreck' Dolphins

if the rams were to get that 1st pick i think they would absolutely trade it...so we'd have that going for us at least...we can be involved in the bidding...the wrong team gets that pick you might as well forget about it...they won't even answer the phones...i wouldn't either if we get the pick...but lookin at the rams yeah the schedule looks not good but you got to think in that division they'll eventually squeeze out a few wins...i mean arizona seattle...those games are toss ups

The problem with even the rams having the #1 pick is you don't control your destiny.

Ofcourse elway along with 95% of the NFL is dreaming of drafting Luck,
My feeling is if its ment to be it will happen.

As much as we bemoan our fate with missing out on Bress twice it was new Orleans
Fate that Bress go there I feel if its our time the right coach & QB will find their way here.

I'm not looking forward to any of that. This is our best chance to win IMO. Kansas City is a possibility too...after those two games I don't know if we get a win this season.

We're bound to win some fluky game we had no business winning. Happens every year, even in 07. Im thinking we win 2. One out of the Chiefs/KC and then some random other game where the other team just implodes.

yawn. worry about this when we a.) have a new gm. b.) have a new hc, and c.) when andrew luck says he won't play for a or b.

well better get ready...i dont think this team will go into kc and get a win...i think we might get destroyed in their building...at dallas could be a massacre thankgiving day...

i'm prepared to lose em all...i don't need a meaningless win aganst denver this week...i want some real hope...that top pick provides us a legit chance for the future

I want Luck as much as anybody here but I don't want to go 0-16...we got to get a win somewhere.

We still need the Colts to win a game too.

that kinda thing usually happens if the players haven't given up...i don't think theres a more volatile lockerroom in football than ours right now...when it nose dives i don't see any fluke anything...except losses...and looking at that sched its chalk full of solid or damn good football teams...

if we win a game we need the colts to win two...barring manning coming back asking that colts team to win 3 games by us winning 2 is gonna leave us in a very uncomfortable position for that top pick...

honestly, do people really think Luck is going to do do what almost nobody does and refuse to play somewhere? The only thing we all know is that Luck knows about the entire NFL fanbase talking about Suck for Luck and he thinks that it is dumb. But having actually HEARD what Luck said, it sounds like he's pretty much rolling his eyes at the thing and is just tired of hearing about it. He's very team oriented and he doesn't want to talk about his future.

Exactly.

Of course we are a train wreck now WTF. We'll have a new GM and COACH in place way before the draft. We'll be fine.

this whole thing is getting ridiculous about all this speculation of whether luck would play for miami or not.

first of all, he has not indicated anything that would make anyone think ( as far as i have heard) that he is against playing specifically in miami.

Now, Why would he not want to play for us? aside from the fact that most people play for the team that drafts them, The miami dolphins are a very proud overall franchise, and one of the more storied ones in sports.

yes we have been extremely inept over the past decade, i get all that. However, things will change. Tony sparano, and all of the guys from parcells will prob be gone. we will prob bring in a new gm, have a new coach, and a whole new coaching staff in general.

secondly, miami has good fans. yes i know the fans have not exactly been showing up at the stadium lately, but can you blame them with the product on the field and the expense of going to a game these days? All he needs to do is look up films of miami fans back at the day of the orange bowl and see how loud we can be. miami is a great place to play.

As has been stated by myself and many other posters, what exactly would he be looking for? its not like he can be expecting to be selected first overall by a great team. The team that has that pick has it 99% of the time because they are really bad, unless that team acquired it via trade.

All in all, i just think this is unfair to luck all the possible speculation of what he may or may not do come draft day, because its making him out to be a type of guy that he may very well not be, and has not indicated he is other then the media trying to fuel it.

could he possibly not want to play specifically for any team, the dolphins in particular? Hey, its life, anything is possible. do i think its likely? NO. if we get the first pick and select him, i think he will gladly be appreciative of it, and play for our team, trying to restore greatness to this once proud franchise. We would basically give him the keys to the city if he played for us.

If i was Luck or any other kid coming out i wouldn't want to play for this owner either and wouldn't at all under Tony and or Jeff, and if i was a FA i wouldn't come here at all because of the owner.

And i'm saying that as a life long Dolfan.......just think of what young guys coming into the nfl think of this team.

It's getting blown way out of proportion and it's bizarre that the focus is mostly on the Dolphins. There are other teams just about as bad as us. There are other teams whose fanbases are really getting into SFL. There are other teams whose owners have tweeted that they would love to draft Luck.

The sports media is dogpiling us right now. I have my own theories for why that is, but whatever.

There is really no reason why he would not play here. I can't see how anything comes into play until after the season. After the dust settles and if Miami has the #1 pick, A. Luck would be effn happy to come here.

Every year the best players often go to the worst teams in the draft. QBs, RBs, whoever. Other than Elway and Eli Manning, who else has demanded NOT to play for a bad team? When you're losing things look bad. Where does he want to play....GB? Gimme a break.

Its an honor to be selected #1 overall (if that happens to be the Dolphins in 2012 then so be it). If he actually refuses to play here, it would show alot about his character and what a baby he would look like. Again, how many players drafted high by bad teams in the last 30 years have refused to play for a certain team?

and eli refused to play for the gm/owner of the chargers based upon how they treat thier players. its not like ross is cheap when it comes to paying for the talent we have. wereas desawn jackson was told to sit and spin just last season.
