Alex Smith to visit Miami.

Yea our defense is no where close the the 49ers...

I hope its a both sides leverage move...But we never get anything right...

Say no to Alex Smith please. Can we just sign Flynn and move on. Jesus this is getting ridiculous.

This would be an interesting signing..I for 1 Like Smith alot more then any FA out there.

His WR corp was terrible.

I would take Smith all day long over Flynn! Kid has had 7 different OCs and systems yet keeps improving plus like Chamberwi said a freakish collarbone injury that some quack botched.

This is our second chance at Drew Brees

Not sure if serious.

It took Smith several seasons to look good.....also he did well in not turning over the ball but he really didn't put up numbers or as many TD's as he should of. That offense relied on Akers for points as they couldn't punch anything in. Moore > Smith or Flynn > Smith.

I like Alex Smith and I think he is improving. With solid coaching I think he can continue to win. HOWEVER, 17TD's? 17TD's??? I'd bet $1,000 that if Flynn started for us he'd top that easily in the WCO.

17TD's is Fiedler, Feely, Moore, Henne type numbers. So yes, without a stellar D, 17TD's a year is not 'franchise QB' level production. You have to be able to score in today's NFL.

again, a huge part of that is scheme/talent. Not making excuses for Smith, but again there is a reason the 9ers just signed Randy Moss and Mario Manningham. Michael Crabtree has been nowhere near the WR they thought he would be so far.

And Harbaugh is a run first/playaction guy.

Be funny if Pay-a-ton goes to the Denver or the Titans and Flynn ends up in SF......

Smith to Seattle and us after all the halabaloo Moore

TIME to bring on the BENNY HILL theme song

Wotld is ending Nublar and i agree!
Smith is intriguing, but I still think Flynn is ultimately going to be the one that gets the job. I still think Flynn can be a success in a Philbin/Sherman offense.

Wouldn't be the Dolphins though if they didn't take a seemingly easy Flynn signing and add a last minute twist.

I'd actually really be interested in seeing what Smith could do under Philbin's direction.
