Alex Smith to visit Miami.

Some of us does realize there is a development process. As far as the 7 different OCs and systems well they kept getting themselves fired so whats that tell you.
it tells me that the qb who was drafted 1st overall to give san fran its franchise qb that they had been looking for since joe montana and steve young, failed miserably, and although the coaches got fired for it, smith deff had to play a part in it also due to his performance. a coach can only do so much.

1 oc getting fired? ok. 2? a little weird, but ok. 3? u got to look at the player. 4, 5, 6, 7? im sorry, smith is a major part of the problem also.

i can guarantee u if aaron rodgers, drew brees, tom brady, big ben, manning ( both) romo, etc were there, there would not have been 7 different ocs in 7 seasons

Sounds like the same type of excuse I've heard for our poor QB play over the past few years.

When have you ever heard that from me? i could be wrong here but i would roll the dice on Smith!

Hey, what happened to "Philbin knows Flynn best whatever we do I'll agree with it.". Now the board is filled with 2 year olds having temper tantrums because we could miss our on the great Matt Flynn and maybe they were wrong about Flynn. Can we have it both ways? I don't think do. If Plilbin viewed Flynn as a franchise caliber QB he would have been signed the day Manning told us no. If the NFL viewed Flynn as a franchise quality QB and we were "low balling" he'd be a Seahawk or a brown already. It seems to me that the truth is probably that Philbin, and other teams, view Flynn as a possible upgrade to Moore, or their current QB, mostly due to him knowing this system hence he's not getting offered what he expected to get offered. This stuff seems so simple I don't know why we make it complex. At the end if the day I don't see a huge difference between Moore, Flynn or Alex Smith. The 2012 Dolphins are likely not hoisting the Lombardi trophy next February with any if the 3.

At this point, and it won't be popular, I would sign Smith or Flynn only if we pay them in such a way where they could compete with Moore for the starting job. May the best QB win. If neither will sign stick with Moore and use the money to keep upgrading the roster. Move on a QB when you are 100% sure he's an UPGRADE to Moore. If anyone here is 100% sure that Flynn or Smith is an upgrade to Moore they're lying.

I didn't say I heard it from you before (surprised you said it actually). I've heard it from those that have defended mediocre QB play for the past decade. Hell, we had to listen to it just this past season with Henne. Usually, a mediocre QB is just a mediocre QB.

I think it's definately a leverage play by both Smith and the Dolphins. However, I have been partial to Alex Smith over the years. I would gladly welcome him to Miami. I think the WCO that Philbin and Sherman run could be a really good fit for him.

Well a few things our boy Nolan had a habit of firing people to save face. Singletary is a nut job so who knows. San Fran drafted that qb, but left him on a Ireland(lol i meant island guess my phone reconized no weapons n ireland) no weapons and shabby line play.

Hey I usually pile on everything these clowns do, but i have said they played it right being conservative with Flynn. He hasn't wowrd anyone not Seattle and not Cleveland, that says something because Colt sucks and Holmgrem is a West Coast QB guru pretty much the God Father.

Look at the video Nublar put up you can see the kid maturing in that game. If that scrub doesn't play kickball with punt returns Smith is jn the Superbowl. Like I said before I could be wrong, but I like this kid.

Writing is on the wall he fired his agent, and left San Fran. It a chance to sweep him up! Our only downside is selling him on our WR platoon he has had his share of less then average WRs in his career. Bush likes him ask Reggie.

Well I call it how I see it! Henne, Moore, are scrubs well Moore is a serviceable backup with a Pennington type ceiling. Come on Gonzo jump on the Smith bandwagon! What do you have to lose?

He intrigues me. He looks like a QB who's light finally turned on. He looks like he's making strides and improving. I'd actually like this move. He's only 27.

When the game is on the line and need a QB to step up to the challenge......

I remember that game and it was a nice pressurized performance. Wonder how big a bounty Gregg Williams placed on Smith's knees

I don't know, I watched that Giants playoff game and Smith did not look good AT ALL. He looked real bad outside of two big plays to Vernon Davis. Maybe if we can bring Vernon Davis with him? Sure.

More of my money on tickets. I don't see any reason to invest in a mediocre QB to compete with the mediocre QB we already have, especially when it will require signing said mediocre QB to a multi-year contract. If we're going to go into next season with the hopes that one of these mediocre QBs will magically raise past their already apparent ceilings, I'd rather go in with Moore since we can dump him easily after next season and draft one of the several good QBs coming out in next years draft (unlike this years, outside of Luck of course).
