Moore has a extremely limited arm most people miss that. Just watching that Bess td pass against New England gave me a noise bleed just watching it the thing hung forever, he just had to put that much air under it to get it there.
Whooeee ... Alex Smith?? .... Holy Turds-a-poppin batman!! He'll ensure a high draft pick every year!!
Live in the Bay Area ... he emptied out the stadium ... got several coaches fired ... even emptied out the Sports Bars for the last few years.
I think its leverage ... but if we don't sign Flynn ... suppose Smith is as good a backup as any. Pissy little personality too!! ... a la Sancheez!!
Don't know if this has been suggested but they may be interested in signing 2 west coast qb's and trying to deal Moore for a low rounder. I don't really think this is the case, but if so what do you think we could get for Moore?
Yes, I know, I watched the games. I haven't exactly been a proponent of going into the season with Matt Moore as the starting QB, but compared to Smith, Flynn, and now apparently Garrard, I don't see much of an improvement to be made with any of the others over the mediocre QB we already have. And the first 2 come with longer, more expensive contracts. No thanks. If we're getting another year of mediocrity at the most important position in football, I'd just as soon save the cash to invest in the other holes Ireland created and get one of the better prospect QBs in next year's draft. If Matt Moore takes it to the next level, awesome, we won't need to. If he continues to be a mediocre starter, we won't be stuck with him for years.as good as Moore was at times, there were also times where he was extremely late on reads or just missed easy reads (the first Jet game comes to mind).
He wasn't the reason they got fired. Stop being so dramatic. Sports bars weren't cleared out either. You have no idea what you're talking about.
you know, looking Alex Smith's career stats, the last 3 years he's gotten better. Heck even when he was in his first few years, he was improving before that collarbone injury that required 2 surgeries because the doctor messed up.
Smith looked decent in Harbaugh's version of the West Coast Offense last year, and honestly probably could have had even better stats if A)Harbaugh wasn't a power running coach and B)His WRs were more consistent/big play guys (there is a reason they signed Randy Moss and Mario Manningham)
Now Smith probably wouldn't be a franchise changer, but he'd be a good guy to hold the fort down.
I think it's definately a leverage play by both Smith and the Dolphins. However, I have been partial to Alex Smith over the years. I would gladly welcome him to Miami. I think the WCO that Philbin and Sherman run could be a really good fit for him.
A contraire moi frere ... I'm out there every Sunday & the Sports bars are devoid of 9ers & Raiders fans.
Bad QB play produced bad records ... and pop went the Nolan, & Singletary!! Even though though those 2 built a decent team & evidenced by last years play. Of course Smith not the only cause ... but the BIG cause!! ... very similar to Henne.
