Anyone else worry we still only have 2 starting o-linemen?

Why on earth do multiple people (as in more than 1!) want Clabo back? He is over the hill, badly declining and a bad scheme fit due to lack of athleticism but then again some people wanted Mckinnie back *shudder*

Please, no even tell me that it's only the 3rd day of free agency. So what? What matters is that linemen are going and going. Collins was the last one now. We only have 2 real starters and I'm worry we're going to be left out. Am I overeacting?

Ozzy rules!!
Yes you are over reacting. I only expected to get 2 Linemen in free agency.

Clabo was one of the worst RT in football first half of year. When he came back in after the Martin-Cog scandal he rated as one of the best. If Clabo performs like he finished last year, he would be a steal, especially since he will only command IMO a one year deal fir abot 2-3m

Even at the end of the season I thought Clabo was little better than ok. Even if we could get that out of him again (I- certainly as likely to get we first half as the second) I would rather upgrade

our tackleSSSSS sucked last year....that's where the biggest problem was. If Hickey is worth his weight in salt he'll sign up a quality RT ASAP.

In terms of signing O-linemen, I think we're on pace. Signed our LT, talking to an OG and a RT. Awsi highlighted it earlier in the thread, and I've been saying it to whoever will listen: You shouldn't have to spend premium resources to get quality players at OG and RT. Jeff Ireland was an embarrassment. If Hickey is similarly unable to find quality O-line starters outside of the 1st RD, we're ****ed anyway. When you're reaching on Zach Martin, other teams are taking advantage of the talent on D and at WR.

yeah but how many other teams needed 4 olinemen after last season?

You say that, but the best two teams in NFL, both have OL which have been heavily invested with high round picks. IMO getting a very good O'line is the 2ns most important thing in football, behind a franchise QB.

Sign smith, smith and strief draft martin then grab one more in the draft.... line sorted

Exactly...and if that happens I'll be happy.

Until they do find and sign legitimate starters though...There is reason to worry.

Jeff Ireland took the same attitude last year that some posting here have though....that were ok, versus taking real action.

Jonathan Martin sucked at left tackle in 2012 and should not have been relied upon as our plan at LT. Just as Brenner, Garner and some others from last year should not be relied upon in 2014.

I didn't say to avoid O-line in the 1st or 2nd RD. I'm saying don't reach for O-linemen in the 1st or 2nd RD just because you have a need at the position. Zach Martin at 19 (imo) is horrendous.

IF being the important word here. Will stop worrying when IF becomes HAVE.

Nope, you are not overreacting. I am also worried about our OL, specifically the RT spot.

Yes, you are overreacting here.

lol.....been doing this for too long to stop now

This is true only when you have time to develop players, but we dont have that kind of time. Our OL was so terrible that we cant wait a few years to develop mid to late round linemen. So yea, regarding the OP, I'm worried we have 3 unfilled positions along the OL.
