Are Jets/Fins games pretty brutal in the stands?

I've been to four Dolphins-Jets games in the Meadowlands (1996, 1998, 2001 and 2003), always in full Dolphin regalia, and never a problem.

The only time I ever had a problem is when I went with my friend to see a Raiders-Jets game about three years ago (he's a huge Raiders fan and I went to have a good time). Again, having on my #99 jersey and Dolphins jacket, only one guy gave me a hassle. The Jets won and on the way out to the bus back to Port Authority, one guy starts drunkenly yelling in back of me about my Dolphins stuff. I turn around and he's a good twenty feet away with three other friends. He's the only one shouting, the others said nothing. I asked the guy to repeat what he said, which he did. I then started to blow kisses at him, which made his friends laugh, much to his chagrin.

Awesome stories guys!
Man, I wish I could attend the opener but wont be able to make it since I cant get out of Georgia.

Its easy to get into a fist fight at a Fins-Jets game. They are always there, and they are generaly a drunk and obnoxious bunch(not that we are not). I will say this though, every so often you will meet a sober one who just wants to watch his team and have a good time. Sure, we can give them a hard time but we are just as much at fault as they are for the fights in the stands. I have been in my share, and I am sure most South Florida natives have been in their share. Its just part of the game, if you want to avoid that, shell out the cash for tickets in the 100 and 200 levels, it is usualy alot more tame down there.

Jet fans are all talk. One of them once brought a sign (forgot what it said) and I grabbed it and smacked him on the head with it and he did nothing.
o.m.g:sidelol:...i hope your sitting in my section 455 that would be funny to see again

i was probably all of 6 or 7 when dad took me to my first dolphins/jets game- it was at the OB and i will never forget when my younger bro & i needed to go to the bathroom. my dad was like: NOT W/O me your not!!!!! good thing, we went in and there was some jets fan, passed or or beaten unconscious in the corner and our fans were giving him the golden shower!!! imagine you are 7 and witnessing that...IT WAS AWESOME! have seem some worse things since, but nothing as memorable!!!

I remember a few years ago when attending a Buc's game.... the Bucs fans used to fight each other.... now that was a sight...

im a dolphin fan from england and i cant believe you guys sit together in mixed stands. The only dolphin game i've been able to see was when we played in london was great to see the fins but were hardly any real fans there. I mainly watch english football/soccer matches and the thought of an opposing fan sitting in our crowd scares me as they would literally be killed. When you travel to away games you have to stay in the stadium after the game till its empty and then get a police escort to the nearest trian or bus station, to be honest its not particularly nice but the fans show real passion here. Do you think the majority of NFL fans in the stadiums aren't true fans?
