It's an argument that can go either way. You can make a list of guys who have improved under Philbin and guys who have stayed the same or regressed, but that can go for many teams. Bigger issue with Philbin is slow starts to the season, getting it turned around a bit mid season, then falling apart.

Why Oh Why has this franchise never realized this?

SEC players ARE the best and play AGAINST the best. I will take that over all the metrics and measureables GARBAGE anytime.
