Article slamming the Fins (Bess trade)

I didn't read the article, how did he get around the fact the Dolphins can't divulge any players personal health issues?

Blame Bess's agent.

great point! The agent is the one charged with looking out for the best interest of the player. They probly thought it was good for change of scene.

The author of the article is questioning why the fins didn't stick with Bess while he went through treatment to get him stable . I'm aware recovering from mental illness isn't achieved over night, but the fact of the matter is, rather then help one of their players through a rough time, the Fins decided to disassociate themselves from him- immediately.

how bout new coach? new system? Already had players in mind for that system?

This article is pure garbage. You gotta be able to see this is pure opinion.

Aren't the Browns accountable for a full physical, background check, and asking questions about what they are buying? Who else says the Dolphins didn't tell them besides this tool bag? Maybe both sides respected Bess' privacy and kept it out of the news because it's none of anyone else's business. I find it hard to believe that Bess was traded and his involuntary committal went unnoticed. I call bull****! Also, Farmer would not have been a candidate if we had screwed Cleveland like this douche says. Why would we open Pandora's Box?

Giving this some further thought, it demonstrates how inconsistent/incompetent Ireland/Philbin/whoever is/are.

How do we trade a guy who visits the wacko farm and keep another wacko farm visitor and a guy who uses a golf club to sexually assault an innocent volunteer? Bess, Martin and Incognito all had those issues when they still had trade value, yet we trade one and look the other way in hopes for the best on the other two.

Damn I wish we would have gone for a clean sweep. The survivors of this last season just can not be trusted.

This writer needs to get off his high horse, what were the Dolphins supposed to do? Get him help when he started having issues? Sounds like his family did that when it happend. Were they supposed to give private medical information to the Browns before the trade? Besides being illegal, it really wasn't their place to suggest that he had mental problems. He never had any outbursts like this in Miami, he did when he got to Cleveland. Can't predict the future.

Miami did not need the bad publicity so I see the point in removing him from the team. But at the same time its Ireland's job to keep the team from being cast in a negative light by getting rid of the problem player and at the same time getting compensation for him. But to cover up his problems and not tell the browns about him is dirty business.

This thing called HIPAA legally prevented the Dolphins from disclosing his mental status.

At best Gregg Doyel is misinformed "professional" journalist.

Right now hes just another douche bag.

I saw it earlier. I think the Fins did not operate in good faith, but the writer goes over the top.

At some point, Bess is responsible for himself and not his employer. The Fins can get into a ton of **** if they cough up confidential info to another employer. Miami should have just released him and not swung a deal, but this writer might have killed them for that as well.

With all the bad stuff in the world, this guy seems to put this near the top.
No they didn't but who is in charge of player personnel for the Browns? Shouldn't he have done his homework?

LOL Greg Doyel article, of course its that hack. He cant bitch about Lebron anymore so he moved on to another target.
