Ask Boomer

Boomer,
Sorry if it's been addressed, but

What do you think of QB Biehauf (Colorado Mines) 6' 6"?

Is he a perennial backup? Or could he be a "developmental QB" that Saban wants to get? What round will he go in?

Sorry mate but I've never heard of him.

Hey Boomer, I have seen some sites state how many reps players have been doing on the bench press. Are these official, or are they just practicing for the real deal.

They would be official mate. No practicing at the Combine.

Boomer,
apologies if this has been asked (i tried a search but saw too much results to sift through)...

when do you think Matt Jones is going to go in the draft, and to where and at what position?

where do you like him going?

how much do you think his combine performance helped him? how much do you think his senior bowl performance will make whatever team drafts him to change him to a different position?

thanks
-the fake fan ;)

Well he could go late in the 1st depending on how a team plans to use him and whether they consider a luxury pick worthwhile at that stage. It's a risk but I suggest he'll go in the top 50.

It helped him a lot. He showed great athleticism and followed up his Senior Bowl showing by proving that he could run solid routes and make catches consistently.

I still see mock drafts w/ Mark Clayton going in the latter half of the 1st round.
Is there a knock on him? I can't help but see a lot of Torry Holt in him. He's not a physical freak, but IMO he is an extremely polished receiver. I wasn't even aware that he was so fast until the combine.

Thanks

Hey, Boomer, are you the same Boomer that sometimes posts on the Eagles message board? If you don't mind a question from a non-Dolphins fan, have you heard anything at the combine regarding who the Eagles are targeting or have interest in in the draft and/or free agency? Thanks.

Boom

I asked you on another thread, but I don't know if you got the message, so I'll try again.

A lot of buzz going around that we might get Edge (for Surtain). This trade rumor has some credibility, so I was wondering if we should get Edge and manage to keep our #2, what direction do you think would be best to go, now that we've had the combine and the cream is rising to the top.

It seems like there are no defensive players that are worthy of a #2, we may pass on a QB, because of Feeley, and the RB's would be off the board, if we get Edge. Doesn't that leave the WR's (Edwards, Williams), if we can't trade down?

Hey mate - we are all good thanks. All very good. I'm not sure. He's a big hitter and clearly Saban has seen something. I'm just not sure I'd want a young guy like that starting when he's coming off a position change. I shall ponder this and see who he might be starting with.

Thanks again Boomer!! and yeah... we cant wait for your mock draft. If its anything like last year, from what i've been hearing, you will give Kiper serious competition. Keep this up and you might get hired by a team to scout the NFL EUROPE players!!!

Boomer, What round do you think CB Eric Green from VT will be drafted? Also, how well did he do at the combine? I know his 40 time was not to great.
Thanks for your time.

Boomer,

Do you know whats going on with Boston, Seau, McIntosh, etc.... are we releasing them or resigning... they've been quiet about it and they're tying up money we could be using in FA.... thanks

Boomer,

You have one pick, need to take one of two players, who do you take!

Derrick Johnson or Shawne Merriman

I like Merriman to have a better pro career, your thoughts.

It's a size thing. Look at the top 2 guys and they are huge. The last WR of a similar ilk who was ultra productive was Troy Edwards. And look what happened. But his height/weight/time in Indy really helpped. Clayton is a really solid 15-25 pick. He is the best receiver in the draft after the catch and has great hands. A really solid player, but does he have the size to be a #1? That's the question some teams wonder.

I'm not mate I'm afraid....you mean....someone has.....stolen my......name.....?????!!!!!! DISGUSTING. :)

No problems at all mate. I haven't yet re the Combine but it will become clearer. As for FA, they REALLY want to re-sihn Trotter and Burgess if possible. They also want another WR.

Thanks Boomer. I thought he was around 6'. Guess he's 5'10"? Still, Harrison and Holt are 6'0" and no heavier. Someone will be very happy with him, IMVHO.
