I dont know how reliable this is, but I do believe that we will see Joey and maybe even CPEP gone pretty soon.

Joey gone is no surprise to many of us....just the money he is due is likely to give him the boot.
But Cams success has been in QBs. Ive said it before and Ill say it again...he teaches and develops QBs he doesnt rehab QBs.
Cam is already being labeled a risky call for HC in many circles, so why would he bet his livelyhood in CPEP. I dont think he will and trades or drops him. If we drop him a cap hit will ensue, but if we trade him....(Raiders maybe?) we would end up with Lemon and possible a free agent QB and a draft pick QB.

Dropping Lemon makes no sense. He knows Camerons system and Cam knows what hes getting. Lemon does not cost that much either.

I like Cpep and want to see him succeed here, but the time Cam spends on him may be better placed elsewhere. The Dolfans have been begging for a franchise QB and they may very well get it this year.

He said it himself..."the tough decisions we all know are coming". Letting go of Sabans choice may be one of them.

CAMS SUCCESS OR FAILURE IN MIAMI IS DEPENDENT ON HIS OFFENSE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IN HIS QB!

What Mueller feels about keeping CPEP may be just as important.

I see them going too c-pep and joey .keeping cleo as a 2nd qb and looking for a qb in the offseason.

Nowhere did Cameron say that two would be gone. Seems more like the columnist's opinion to me.

This is just speculation by the columnist. Cameron hasn't said he'll drop QB's.

Keep Harrington. Unload Culpepper and get a late round QB to groom in 2-3 years.

If Cam looks at CPep and hes not ready scrap him right away! Just get rid of him I know its a cap hit but we do not need the baggage and distraction he could possibly bring to the team!

Cameron ''would look for a trend rather than an exception.''

That's very reasonable. And, thank god, if he lives by that, it means bye-bye Joey.

Because Joey's "trend" is clearly being terrible. An almost unbroken trend.

I would bet we go into next season like this:

1. Culpepper
2. Lemon
3. High-upside rookie to groom.

And, barring any additional injury information I don't know about, I think that's probably the right way to do things.

But Joey has got to be gone. Miami has died at the hands of below-average quarterbacks since Dan left. Fieldler=Ferotte=Harrington, etc.

At least with Culpepper there is a chance he will be great. There is no chance at all that Joey will suddenly be good.

I don't see the whole getting rid of Culpepper arguement. In his first game versus the Steelers (when he was still fresh) I thought he looked really good and he and the offense were making big plays. Now I know as the season went on he got worse due to not being fully healed but in that game I was thinking this could be a very good year for the Fins and Culpepper was the answer. The fact is he played bad due to the injury. I think this year he'll make a return and who out there either FA or rookie would be a more sure bet than Culpepper either way it will be a big risk, so why not stick with Culpepper who has shown in the past he can be big.

You're kidding, right? He displayed the propensity to fold when it counted that he was known for in Minny. He's got a 7 million dollar arm, and a .50 loaf between his ears.

Cam will keep Culpepper if he is expected to be healthy. Culpepper is the perfect QB for a new coach. If he plays next year and he is great - it makes Cam look good. If Culpepper is subpar - the blame is put on Saban.

That was this past season. Saban looked mighty stupid playing that numbskull for 4 games after it became obvious Cpep is too stupid to play the game. It had nothing to do with injury.

I think

I think Dante was play bad before he hurt in MInnesota, when was the last seson he really play fine.... (in Minnesota) he didn`t play well in Miami....

Pope is an idiot for declaring two qb's will be gone. he stated nothing to support that notion. maybe some will be traded or cut, maybe some won't.

I think we need to see what the draft will look like before we bring out the axe to often. I can see Harrington as gone-Lemon is a much better backup (just as good and cheaper). Ditching CPep right now doesnt make much sense. He might come back and be productive and allow a rookie to sit for a year or so-we might as well see what he can do. If we release him we will still be carrying around his cap money but we wont have diddly to show for it.

Still, I agree with the OP that Cam will likely bring in and develop his own QB. If Brady Quinn pulls a Matt Leinart and falls to us we should literally be running to hard the card to Goodell.
