looking at the QB ratings at least Gus is better than 1 QB, Kyle Orton of Chicago. Truely sad he can only beat out a rookie QB and that the likes of Josh McNown, Anthony Wright, Kelly Holcomb, Tim Rattay are above him.

At least Orton has the potential to get better. Frerotten won the job here because he knows the system and provides the best chance to win. Is anyone buying that now?

It's not all Gus' fault, even though I agree he sucks.
Linehan just doesn't realize he has 2 amazing RB's in the backfield because he thinks he has Daunte still throwing to Moss and Cris Carter. Blame Linehan, not Gus. All those reverses totally suck too.
Just imagine all those wasted plays that Linehan called and turning those into RUNS by Ronnie and Ricky. We may have won yesterday.

Heck with the short outs we are throwing and the WR screens Orton would feel right at home in our offense. It looks almost like what they ran at Purdue. Throw a lot of short passes then when the D starts to cheat up on the short pass he would drop a long pass on them.
Not to mention Ortons stats are scued by his first game where he struggled. I think he had like 5 ints against the Cincy D. Look game by game at his ratings instead of overall and tell me who you would rather have.

Orton is doing quite well (for a rookie). He's keeping his team in games and allowing his defense to dominate and create plays. I would be a little disappointed right now, however if he was a Dolphin because we would probably be satisfied w/him and not go after a big time QB (via trade/free agent/draft) next year. Bottom line, Orton is servicable but will never be a game breaker.
