I doubt those idiots predicted San Diego would have the record they did last year. Don't sweat it. This will be an exciting year for us, it will be a transition year, as the players learn new systems, but it won't result in 3-13. AND Saban will be competing prior to 2008 that is for sure

Historically speaking Athlon Magazine is right. The NFL is littered with hotshot college coaches who failed.

For every JJ there is a SOS, the difference with Saban is hes an ex-NFL coordinator coming back to the NFL.

Let Athlon and the rest of the magazine's keep predicting, games are won on the field not on a printing press.

Surprising, Athlon is pretty good (as prediction Magazines go), I think they're dead wrong on this one. Dolfan4life! prediction, Fins 8-8, Bills 6-10. Book it.

3-13 is pretty rough. Probably worst in the league. But we play in the AFC East. So we could realistically end up with six losses right off the bat. Plus we have the NFL's toughest schedule (based on last season's records). The silver lining would be that we'll be in great position in next year's draft.

Still, I have a hard time believing, with all upgrades we've had from a coaching standpoint (arguably the league's best staff), that we'll win fewer games than we did last season.

Also, I think Losman will be a good QB. Might struggle with consistency this year. But I think he'll end up being a dangerous triggerman for a dangerous offense. McGahee, Moulds and Evans form quite a triangle. If Losman can harness his considerable skill, he can be a top QB.

The sports mags are out of date once they hit the newsstands. That 3-13 was written minutes after the draft...so they could have the draft picks in it.

Have you guys noticed that most pre-season predictions have you guys winning 3-6 games?

I know you added players, some are decent (Kevin Carter), some have potential (Roth, Crowder, Brown), but some have lost a step or left (Seau, Surtain, Knight, and Poole to injury) You have improved your coaching staff, but they are far from one of the best in the league at this point. Sure Saban has NFL Experiance,...over a decade ago.


I know that you want to be good this year, but is it possible that you are over rating your team? I mean, is every single professional NFL writer wrong?

You'll say "nobody picked San Diego last year, but that isn't a fair compariosn. They have been building that team through the draft every year, getting high picks and keeping them, and developing them.

You're drafts have been horrible for years, you've traded away picks, and let guys you did draft go...How many draft picks from the last 7 years (not counting this one) are on the roster?

I could be completely wrong, you could go undeafeated, but if I was a betting man I wouldn't expect a season over 6 wins.
