Here is some comparisons of the winning prcentages of the teams beaten

Of the Eagles' 10 wins, the aggregate record is
is 0.431. That includes beating 3 teams with
winning records: Green Bay, Carolina, Dallas.

For comparison sake:

Of the Rams' 10 wins, the aggregate
record is 0.400. That includes beating 3 teams
with winning records: Green Bay, Baltimore, and
Minnesota.

Of the Chiefs' 11 wins, the aggregate
record is 0.385. That includes beating 3 teams with
winning records: Green Bay, Baltimore, and Denver.

Of the Patriots' 11 wins, the aggregate
record is 0.552. That includes beating
6 teams with winning records: Philadelphia, Tennessee,
Dallas, Indianapolis, Denver, and Miami (twice).

Of the Dolphins 8 wins the aggergate
record is .380 This includes beating 2 teams
with a winning record Baltimore and Dallas

Now I ask who has beaten tougher opponents

as teams play through different 'spurts' of 'greatness' I think a little bit broader perspective needs to be looked at.

I would also add in spanking the Bills when they were 'red-hot superbowl bound' would contend qualify as a good win. At the same token, the Giants game (who at the time with there very good D and better then average O) was also a quality win...on the road.....beating the Jets at their house on the road.....

i.e...the NFC is not as strong as the AFC and look below as to what schedule you would rather have?

Sagarin's system works for Sagarin .

What I show is the simple truth not some contrived calculation by Sagarin so he can sell his material LOL

Sagarin quote "my system works, so listen to me" LMAO

Let me add

You want to buy into the system go ahead, but the facts remain those winning percentages are what they are and there is no changing them.

It may not be the best....but it takes more into consideration then just a W/L record. I think it is safe and fair to make the assessment that the AFC (at least this year) is much tougher then the NFC....and the W's earned count for more (for lack of a better phrase) when determining the strength of opponents a team has played. I don't hold Sagarin's ranking's as gold.... :)

I'll consider current trends before any other. What happened in weeks 1-2 have little, if any, bearing on weeks 14-16. In other words, the eagles are getting stronger as the season goes on. We on the other hand are so damn herky jerky, up and down, nobody can get a handle on them. Any prediction of us kicking anybobies butt is rather silly right now because we have no way of knowing which team shows up to play, Hyde or Jeckyll. If that team shows up that beat the 'boys on Thanksgiving Day, then quite simply, the eagles do not stand a chance. Question is, who is willing to take THAT bet? I sure ain't. This teams demonstrates no consistency at all and it is a serious problem.

I edited above

I'll give you that the AFC "appears" tougher, we won't know until the SB. But the winning percentages are what they are and you can only play who is on your schedule, that Sunday.

The problem with Sagarin's ratings they due not account immediately for intangibles - injuries/what players are coming back, who's has a streak (trend), Ect. the "imprecise probabilities" if you will. If Sagarin system actually worked every sports book in the world would be broke.

I've always believed and voiced many times that the Dolphins only consistency is their inconsistency. It's still the truth and I'm just hoping that the team that played Dallas is the one that plays Monday night.

This is a persona after my own heart, when you said "current trends"
