If you are taking a high risk QB (e.g., one who isn't ready to start day 1'sh), then they damned well better offer a high reward upside because you are giving up a pick for this strategy. If your team has a large number of holes, say from changing your coach and/or GM every couple of years, then that's a very hard game to play.

Enough Doughty's and Fales'. It's time to snare one of the bright young superstars coming out in this years draft. Tannehill is an unknown as far as his injury goes and we need a viable backup plan that doesn't cost 10 million dollars.

Agree with the end of the Doughty and Fales experiments. Neither has enough upside.

I disagree with moving up to get one of those "bright you superstars". Mostly because they are all you unknowns rather than superstars, and the damage to the team if we guessed (and it would be nothing more than a guess) wrong would put us in another year of purgatory and rebuilding. It would also almost assuredly result in another coaching change which usually results in additional years of purgatory.

A better plan would be to draft a high risk, high reward QB sometime after day 2, cross out fingers that we get the high reward, and push hard with the team we mostly have now. If the later days QBs don't come with high reward top end potential, use that pick to fill another position. We don't need to spend a draft choice on another Moore, Fales, Doughty, etc. type.

It's very romantic to think Campbell was the answer when he went 5-7

His first game for us was against an 0-4 Titan team
who ended the season at 3-13 one of the worst records in the NFL in 2015

We beat a Texan team that was playing bad at the time
and were 2-4

This loss the Pats put up 36 pts on us and beat us by 29pts

Our next loss was versus Buffalo who put up 33 pts on us

We win one against a 4-4 Eagles team by 1 pt

We lose to a 2-7 Dallas team 24-14

The next loss was an azz beating by the Jets who put up 38 points on us

Another win against Baltimore who was 4-7 at the time and
including our game Baltimore lost 4 out of the last 5 games that season

Another loss against the 5-7 Giants who put up 31 points on us
and went on to lose the last 3 games of the season whith a final record of 6-10

Another loss versus a terrible Chargers team put up 30 on us and were 3-10 before our game
and ended 4-10 with one of the worst records in the NFL

Another loss against a 6-8 colts team let by Matt Hasselbeck,Charlie Whitehurst, and Frank Gore

Our superbowl win against New England, Someone named Jordan Cameron scored in the 4th qtr
to seal our win :)

Not sure why the love affair with Campbell continues with some

For me it was not a love affair but a respect for a coach compared to what we had. I like him as a coach. If he ever gets a chance at being a head coach and he surrounds himself with the right staff he could be successful in this league.
