Baldy's break down of Tua for preseason raiders game

The difference is that there are specific forum rules against one, but not the other. The best way I've found to stop actual "trolling" is to not engage and feed them.

I agree. Ignore feature also works well. I’ve used it a lot. For those that have proved they aren’t in this for serious discussion and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

I also do not hold the view that expressing a difference in opinion is necessarily trolling.

Again, we’re not talking about the same thing.

Because in the average neutral thread, I agree with you. But given the examples I laid out, the variables are different. When someone takes their continued and well-documented opinion into threads where they don’t belong — it is trolling.

I’m not really sure why you’re arguing against that, except that you aren’t recognizing the difference in the scenarios.

If someone creates a thread that essentially says “Considering all the negativity about Tua in many threads on this board, I decided to create this thread to talk about the positives of the great game he had this week“ and the usual suspects come into that thread not discussing his performance in the game but rather restating things such as “Tua won’t be the QB next season” or “he has a weak arm” or “I don’t get what others see in Tua” etc, etc. — that IS textbook trolling.

And that’s the exact type of thing that has been ongoing on this board. Everyone knows by now which members don’t like or aren’t sold on Tua. It’s been spewed over and over for 2+ years now. Regurgitating the same negative takes in threads where it’s not topical IS trolling.

Many hold that same opinion, so you are not alone there. I tire of some of the rhetoric as do you, but I also often take the "devil's advocate" position, as I believe it's largely a matter of perspective and semantics.

I would also point out that no other Dolphin player is defended anywhere near to the extent as Tua. Ppl can rip MG, for example, and nobody seems to have an issue with that, other than to post an alternate opinion. I realize Tua is the QB, but he is no different than any other player to me. Praise when appropriate. Criticize when warranted. Perhaps my views on the Constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech colors my opinion here.

Anyway, I understand where you are coming from.

I don't think Tua's release is Marino level but he does get the ball out of there very fast, faster than anyone I've seen in a Dolphins uniform since Dan. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I see anyone say Tua's release isn't quick. Maybe it's just the left-handed thing playing tricks on people because every scout in the world has and will continue to praise Tua's release speed

Accuracy with no pop will get you by playing at Alabama. (Everyone can air one out, don't get confused)

Elite release? He's a right hander throwing with his left arm. Nobody is coaching that release to the kids.

Somethings not adding up, even with all his elite skills, the league has him ranked in the bottom third.

Everyone got it wrong except Dolphin fan...
Do you even know what an elite release means?

This post makes me wonder...

His release is faster than Marino's. It just doesn't have the same power behind it that Dan's did, obviously. He shouldn't have been able to put that much power behind a throw that quickly, but that's why he's in the Hall of Fame.

I agree. Release is generally defined as going from the beginning of the throwing motion to when it leaves the QB's hand. The frame by frame break downs I have seen objectively show that Tua gets the ball out faster than Marino. But Marino had more zip on his passes so the ball got to the receiver sooner.

Where did I say that, professor?

My response was to a point that his release is nothing special, when in fact it is tops in the league.

Make your bullshit arguments elsewhere.
Professor is a little over the top, I prefer Guru...

Tua does have a quick release. It's just not translating to big plays downfield. Six-foot QB's not named Brees, or Russell Wilson usually struggle in this league. In general, smaller QB's don't see the field as well and they leave plays on the table.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll keep bringing my high-level analysis for team Dolphins.

Lose gesicki before you do more than lose preseason games

I don’t know how many warnings this team needs 🤦‍♂️

He has plenty of arm. The people who have it wrong are the national media types who rely on stats and a few highlights.

Responses like that troll's are a pet peeve of mine. Playing QB obviously requires various traits. When an evaluator says a player has a certain trait and provides an example of another player who had that trait they are not saying that one player has every single trait the other has or is that player. That's a pretty basic concept. A person has to either be a troll and/or just be a special kind of stupid to not understand that.

Mentally small, IMO.
