Well that makes me feel better since our O-line is so much better than Arizona! Just Ask Tannehill, he will be nice and comfy in that Miami pocket and build up that confidence.
Acquiring Rosen doesn't lock the Dolphins into him as the focal point of their rebuild, either. If he plays well, great. Miami found its QB for a late second-round pick and a fifth-rounder. If not, the Dolphins will have one of the top picks in the 2020 draft and can use that on a replacement while installing Rosen as their backup. This is a low-risk move that offers the possibility of an extremely high reward. It's a great bet by the Dolphins.
Except there’s a third alternative: Tannehill 2.0. Shows just enough to bait people into thinking there’s more there, if you just add another blocker on the OL or a big target receiver. Wins too many games to have a great pick, but too few for the franchise to be a contender, etc.Key point here.
Didn’t read yet, but it only took about 10 throws for the world to see Dan Marino was for real.
After over 1000 throws at the college level, he was drafted behind O'Brien.Didn’t read yet, but it only took about 10 throws for the world to see Dan Marino was for real.
He also had a lot of talent around him.I think one of Rosen's first throws was big time deep ball to Christian Kirk. Dan Marino also had a hall of fame coach that had gotten the most of some mediocrity at QB.
I get it. I just don’t understand why there aren’t more guys that are so obviously talented / can’t miss. I guess Peyton was considered that. But by no means am I comparing Rosen to Marino.Dan Marino is considered one of, if not the best, pure passers of all time. We are talking 60 years of history.
No one with half a brain will take your comment seriously. If your constantly looking for talent like that you will only leave yourself sorely disappointed.

Good article as always from Barnwell, but your point is also my biggest fear and knowing our luck as a franchise our most likely reality.Except there’s a third alternative: Tannehill 2.0. Also, it works both ways, too. Dak Prescott was thought to be a superstar after his rookie season, but things look much different now. Even in this day-and-age of instant everything, you have to give a QB an absolute minimum of two full years before reaching a conclusion. Same with college prospects. One and even two-year starters have a record of fooling NFL scouts.
I wrote Charles Harris off as a bust the moment he was drafted. Sometimes you read the scouting report and why the team drafted him and know the guy just isn't worth the pick.
Are you old enough to remember that Marino was drafted onto a conference champion, Super Bowl losing team?
Arizona was the leagues worst team... apples and oranges.
