Basement Team?

not all #s are created equal, he had 10 sacks most in garbage time. That doesn't impress me, I want guys to step up when needed most. Do you think NE gives up on a guy like that after a year if they thought he was some great pass rusher? NE has a pretty good track record of knowing when to let a player go.

I have never once praised Sparano, I have said over and over I'm not sure what to expect but when people bash him I correctly point out he had a top 5 O int he one year he called plays- what is wrong w/ that? Tony wasn't the DC of a team that allowed 55 pts in a playoff game.

If a team never let go their best players for any reason free agency wouldn't exist.

Sure but some guys are let go for financial reasons, Anderson didn't sign a big deal. if NE wanted him back he would be in NE. Again, NE doesn't make too many mistakes letting players go.

I don't think Buffalo is expecting Anderson to make the Pro Bowl though. He's a complimentary player that can help a good defense. That's his role with Buffalo. I would've liked him in Miami too had he signed.

What's wrong is that it isn't true. Tony Sparano was never the OC in Dallas. He didn't design the plays nor did he design the offense. It was Jason Garrett's offense, and he was the one who drew up the x's and o's. Sparano was the OL coach who called played for several games, which is a whole lot different than being the OC.

Sparano was the OC before Garrett was brought in. They ran the ball more when he was calling the plays.

Actually he was the OLC and RBC who called the plays - of which from a total yardage standpoint, literally 2/3rds were the designed plays and players of WRC Todd Haley utilizing Witten, TO in his prime, Glenn and Crayton (approx 3400 yds between them) among other receivers, through the air and Julius Jones/Marion Barber (1700yds combined) on the ground. Of course you had Romo and Bledsoe combining for over 4000 yards. If anything, the jets should have hired Todd Healy, but beyond, that do you see even any remote comparison on offense between these jest and the 2006 Cowboys?

I hate the jests, I am MUCH more interested in what that psycho Haley will do with Ben and the steelers.

There is no denying that the rest of the AFC East teams have made improvements. This will be a very tough division. The Bills look like a much bigger threat than the jests to me.

He was a complimentary player in NE too, why wouldn't they want to keep such a valuable, low cost guy?
