Best Miami QB since Marino?

just a thought...for future reference remember the name Erik Ainge. Hes a soph at Tennessee now 6-6 tall and has a elway arm...runs an offense like brady.
he's also Danny Ainge's nephew so athletic gene's run in the family i guess

I think exactly the same as texasPHINSfan on this one; Brian Griese is probably the most capable QB the Phins have had on their roster since Marino's retirement but Jay Fiedler did the most positive for Miami (comparably) and, to give him some credit, seemed to put more effort in than the others and tried his best to help win games (which he had a good record at).

I know we have had the worst quarterbacks in the NFL consistantly since Marino retired. Who do you think is/was the best quarterback weve had since he left?

Personally I think it was Griese. True he didn't shine when he was here, but he's currently doing better than crappy in Tampa. He could have developed with us maybe not as the long term answer but better than what we have now.

Your thoughts?

With all of our Hall of Fame QB's since 2000, does it really matter? All of them were just SO DAMN GOOD

Statistically i suppose it's Fiedler, and he did win games. Which nobody else had really done, as much as i hate him, i suppose Ears' gets my vote.

The depressing thing is that because the answer if obvously Fiedler, it is telling about how talent hungry we have been at the QB position.

I give Jay credit, he played with a big heart. He just lacked the talent a top notch QB needs. He had the guts, just not the skills.

lol...dont forget the spaghetti arm...

no way is it Jay. it's Griese.... Brian can perform at a probowl level. Jay Fiedler was lucky to ever throw for 200 yards in a game.

Here's an idea.... change the title of the thread to "Least Worst Miami QB since Marino?"

With that said, based on winning percentage alone, it would have to be J. Fiedler.

It's not like there ahve been 20 years to of QBs to choose from but w/o question the best since Dan was Jay Fiedler. it's not even debateable.

Brian CAN perform at a pro-bowl here, yet in Miami he never did. Thus at least he is not the best DOLPHINS QB since Dan Marino. Maybe he's the best of all the QB's we have, but certainly not in his time here.

While we really did not give Brian a real shot at becoming the guy . He was probably the best that we had . Because he had been a probowl QB. Something Jay could never dream of being. It was Wannys love for him that doomed Brian of ever having a real shot.

For one Brian never really had enough time to learn this offense. And if he was going to be a starter for us he should have been given the reps.

While Jay was still here Brian wasn't going to get his fair shot.

Just like last year when we brought in AJ.
While I do not think AJ is ever going to be anything here . He should have been given his fair shot. But again we could not get rid of the thing called Jay that has been keeping this offense down. And yes I know Wanny, Jay gave us the best chance to win. Which is why we are where we are at today.

Fiedler, I remember the sunday night game where Griese couldn't do anything, then Fiedler comes in and leads the team to victory. He wasn't the most talented, but he did win alot of games. It's kinda hard to pick the best Qb since Marino retired, because none of the Qb's were very good.

Brian Griese didn't get much of a chance with DW breathing down Fiedlers neck.
Funny how he goes over to the Bucs and given the chance, clinched the starting job......he'd my choice after Dan.

Very tough choice and it pains me to say this but it had to have been fiedler. Not that there was much to choose from.
