Breaking News: Mike Pouncey not likely to be punished by the NFL

No. He doesn't.

If you want hypocrisy, put Pouncey on the jests these past couple of years and see what his ardent defenders say.

Well thats with any foe team player that sneezes the wrong way.

If we step back, Pouncey has done nothing wrong (proven) apart from being assosiated with a college friend who happens to be a murderer in Hernandez.

Yes, the guy does dumb stuff outside the field. But to say Pouncey is a POS because he was/is friends with Hernandez?

Miami did pick up his option for 2015 but, nothing is guaranteed other than by injury. Forget the NFL for now, What is Philbin thinking? He has done nothing criminal, and is a VG player but, his behavior and attitude are very questionable. For some NFL HC's and teams this is not acceptable for the type of player they want on their team, and have to believe Philbin is one of them.

IMO, I think he is going to make more "errors in judgment" in coming weeks/months and that we do not need the headache in spite of his talent.

Question before last year how just how many error in judgements with Pouncy are we speaking about. Its been my impression after he and his brother wore their free Henadez hats last year that was the beginning of when everyone began fussing about having issues regarding Pouncys judgment. So its been almost a 4 year marriage with the dude and other than this past 12 months Pouncy has not been making headlines off the field?

True, there is nothing else we are aware of, and he is good to go in playing in the NFL. However, among players there are those with high character, and those who are characters, with Pouncey being the later. In no way am I saying he does not belong in the NFL, that would be silly. I am saying that he is not a good fit for this Philbin coached team.

Miami needs all the help they can get, on the oline. unless they can find a team that is willing to trade a very high draft pick, or another pro bowler, i'd like to keep him.

If a probowl center is not good for a Philbin based team...then its not Pouncey to get rid of. We were too quick to get rid of Marshall after a supposed incident, we still haven't recovered from that. Overpaying for Wallace to try and correct the situation while BM continues to be a top WR in the league. Now get rid of Pouncey because he was up late on his Bday

Enough of the sign choir boys nonsense.....I would love to know what some of you do in your free time. Ever up past midnight?

I think some of you are forgetting some of the stuff that came out of the Martin fiasco - not the bullying, but the other stuff - you know "Let's go to Pouncey's and get wasted", "Did you stay at Pouncey's last night - no, that #$%^ was #$%^ crazy!" stuff. Reading those things, it became all too clear why our o-line was crap last year - they were coked out half the time!

If you add to that all the other allegations we've heard about (the guns, the criminal associations, the assault, the lack of common sense), I would say you've got to keep that guy on a short leash, because the signs are all there for one nasty incident to end the whole party abruptly. But as far as moving him, you can't to do that right now, his market value is just not good at the moment (especially given the surgery).

Young millionare athletes using drugs and booze? What is the world coming to!

Cmon man. ****, even the NFL is being investigated by the DEA for being a oxicotton and vicodine pill mill to players.

Every illegal drug is legal in pill form as long as it's 'approved' by the FDA and some pharmaceutical company with ties to congress seats is making billions from it.

Ricky got suspended for smoking reefer, yet gets prescribed reefer in a legal pill. :idk:

Off the top of my head, Jackson from Philly would be one, and I recall Ozzie Newsome doing some house cleaning with problem children in Balt.

Picking up the option was a good business decision, with no risk.

Jackson was scheduled to earn $10.5 million and was a "me-first" whining diva type. That's hardly the same situation we have in Pouncey.

Ozzie Newsome has had 5 players arrested this offseason and hasn't cut any of them.

Exactly.

As I said before let Pouncey walk not because of the bullying case (that stuff was WAY overblown) but because of all his other stuff he has going on, most of which was brought into semi-light by the Incognito texts.

If someone wants to talk about hypocracy then lets see who screams "scumbag" if/when Pouncey's lifestyle finally gets him in trouble. I bet alot of those folks will be the same people that advocated keeping him in this thread just because he was "pretty good at football". Nevermind it's at a position that a competent replacement is relatively easy to find.

I have been known to close bars in So Be at 5 AM, and move on to an "after-after hours place, meaningless to this discussion. Our team is trying to overcome negative press, and Pouncey is well aware of that, and should try to help more than hinder.

I mentioned Jackson in Philly earlier, who was not wanted on suspicion of his friends. He is a much better player but, the team chose to let him go, in spite of being a potential contender. Different strokes for different folks, and I would prefer to move on from his lack of maturity in just thinking about himself. JMO

what a number of sources close to and around the team, including current and former players, as well as additional sources within the Eagles revealed was that Jackson was not very well liked by his teammates, was blatantly insubordinate, with temper tantrums cussing out Kelly several times in front of the team, pushed the NFL rookie coach the way “a child would test boundaries,” and was more concerned with his rap label than he was about winning football games.

What exactly does he 'have going on'?

Apart from some drugs/booze parties at his house? Like 50% of the league is not doing the same? All the other stuff, connections to Hernandez, gun trafficing, punching babies in the face...pure specualation.

Vikings players hold a cruise gang-bang and everyone 'Well why not? If I was some millionare athlete I'd be doing the same.'

Let's cut the guy for enjoying life the way most millionares do every day of the week.

My best friend is a Philly fan.

I've been calling Jackson 'Baby T.O.' from Day 1.

:chuckle:

Some in here act like they have a vested interest In this team. Heads up you don't, and as of right now, the ones that do have a vested interest ( Miami Dolphins ) aren't complaining.

Are you honestly trying to tell me that Philly cut ties with Jackson over money (which they had plenty of) and being a diva? Did you not read anything on what happened?

You asked for a Pro Bowler in a similar situation, which I gave you. The money was not an issue as they did take a cap hit for doing what they did for nothing.
