Breaking News: Mike Pouncey not likely to be punished by the NFL

As well he shouldn't be punished for it. But that doesn't mean we should resign him. I don't see a trade market for him since he's in the last year of his deal and he's going to want a big raise that, quite frankly since he's an interior offensive linemen that has trouble follow him around, he's not worth. Let him come back from the injury, play out this season and then let him walk.

This isn't some super talented diva wide receiver that we just have to "grin and bear it" with his off the field life style that begs trouble because his talent can't be replaced. This is a damn center people. We can find another one pretty easily and one that actually wants to be professional. We don't need to make the same mistake that the Steelers did with his brother and give him a big pay day.

But I guess I'm being negative just because I don't want ANOTHER embarassment for this franchise when his lifestyle catches up to him and to us.

Either way. He shouldn't be resigned when this deal expires.

Because he did......?

I find it funny the NFL has tape from every 'Hard Knocks' team showing team captains and veterans hazing and 'bullying' rookies and teammates. Even some with coaches laughing it up in the locker room as the 'bullying' goes down.

But because Snake Martin got his panties in a bunch NOW the NFL acts?

HA!

We shall see. The team has 2 more offseasons, possibly 3 if they franchise him in 2016, before they have an absolute deadline to make that decision. Either way, Pouncey is likely here for AT LEAST the next couple of years.

Because of nothing having to do with the "bullying" scandal.

Interesting that the NFL spent big money on Ted Wells conducting the investigation with the cameras on the players asking questions every day, release the Wells Report and now effectively 6 months later, nothing happens. Zilch! If I was cynical I would conclude that the NFL wanted to avoid the prospect of litigation re the bullying of J-Mart (ie risk mitigation), but the substantive recommendations re the mental health assessment of players, meant very little.
What has changed in the past 6 months to negate the Wells recommendation re the mental health assessment of Pouncey? Why did it take them so long to finally make this comment?

So you want to get rid of a Top 5 NFL Center because?

because he wore a hat, tweeted juwuan james, and lives in miami and celebrated his birthday in miami after having a hip labrum scoped!

don't just get rid of him, hang him!

Miami did pick up his option for 2015 but, nothing is guaranteed other than by injury. Forget the NFL for now, What is Philbin thinking? He has done nothing criminal, and is a VG player but, his behavior and attitude are very questionable. For some NFL HC's and teams this is not acceptable for the type of player they want on their team, and have to believe Philbin is one of them.

IMO, I think he is going to make more "errors in judgment" in coming weeks/months and that we do not need the headache in spite of his talent.

Don't forget he took a picture without a shirt on. Oh, and he played for the Florida Gators.

Amazed he is still allowed in the NFL.

If there was true concern for Mental Health in the league; Hernandez & Titus Young would have never been drafted, signed, etc...

His off the field lifestyle lends itself to him eventually getting into serious trouble, not to mention some of the rumblings about exactly what he is involved in during his off the field time. His type of issues could be tolerated for a big time skill position player that are hard to replace but a ball club doesn't have to take that gamble on a center. There's not that big a difference between a "top 5 center" and the number 12th ranked center.
