Breaking News: Mike Pouncey not likely to be punished by the NFL

They very well should! Do you remember winning a playoff game recently? hell how about making the playoffs? How about having a winning record!

So hitting the panic button will bring a winning record.... Please

I am not saying cut Pouncey. Im saying call a spade a spade. he is a POS that wears a Dolphins uniform on Sundays (well not for the first part of this season). If he were a Jet everyone here would be killing the guy not defending him.

He is a good center a very unimportant position. He would be more valuable if we moved him to guard to better utilize his athleticism.
I would not resign him, like Gonzo (I think) mentioned why pay Pouncey 8 or 9 million when you can sign two good players for that money.

Like I mentioned along with some other guys I would much rather have a POS person scoring touchdowns, sacking the opposing qb, or intercepting passes than snapping the ball and stalemating the guy standing over him..

ok, here's where I think the disconnect is. You can have an average line and make the playoffs, if you have a top 10 qb (with some very few exceptions). Right now, we don't know how good Tannehill will be. I would rather have an above average oline, to help him develop...is all i'm saying.

I think Denver and NE have very solid olines. seattle, I think a lot of their issue was the QB, who liked to scramble a lot.

Depends on the schemes and system. There have been teams that have won playoff games and SB's with an average QB. You ask any QB in all levels of the sport, and they will tell you Oline is the most important part of the offense. sure, maybe one position on the oline isn't the most important single player on the offense, but if you start to have a bunch of average lineman on your team, your oline will not be very good. Pouncey and Albert are the only proven good/great players on the oline. get rid of pouncey, and you only have a Albert.

If you have a bunch of average lineman and a great QB, and a good D you compete for super bowls regularly. O-line isn't nearly as important as it was in the old days when it was off tackle and dive all game..

better than having a guy in there putting tannehill on his back...

I don't think you realize the importance of the center. he doesn't just hike the ball and block whoever is in front of him. If that's all you think he does, you need to play some real football, or talk to a center, or any olineman, and ask them what the center does.

lol, the importance of olineman will never change. just because there's less run blocking and more pass blocking doesn't diminish the importance of the oline. They still need to block! come on man...

I would love to have him a great Oline, Calvin Johnson Julio Jones out wide, and Jimmy Grahm at TE.
But, what I really want to see if the qb take the step NOW and everyone stop making excuses.
Does Andrew Luck have a great O line? Russel Wilson?

it's not an excuse when he's sacked 58 times. And i'm not saying we need a great oline. I just don't want to have all average lineman, if at all possible. Let me know how good indy and seattle does, if they have the most sacks in the NFL for that year.

Of course it is important. But you are overrating the need for a great oline IMO
I would rather have a great QB, Great secondary, or great pass rush...JMO

I can't believe after last year, some are saying that we are ok with an avg line. We just paid a fortune for Albert, bc this FO thought the same last year....they aren't thinking of making the same mistake.

And yes, there are more important things than a center, but that doesn't mean you throw a Pro bowl center away because he likes to go out, or what he MIGHT do in the future. ****ing ridiculous.

well no duh. but that's not what we have...yet. hopefully tannehill can turn into a great qb, but right now, he still needs to step up and prove it. having an average oline, rather than a solid oline, will not help the situation.

ya I see your point. That average line got us to the play offs, and just in case you haven't noticed, we don't have a great QB.
Do You really think hitting that button every time something happens is the way to go.
