Breer: Dolphins plan to add Manning AND Tannehill

This scenario sucks!!...WTF bank on Manning(health) and Matt Jones wow.Thats about as dangerous as it gets to taken this team to the cellar.

IMO Tannehill is a reach at #8. If we sign Manning , we can draft a developmental Qb in the later rounds. Fill a need at #8.

I really like the sound of that scenario. Tannehill isn't a polished product but I am sure Sherman can tell Ireland and Philbin everything they need to know about him. If they feel he is worth the 8th pick, I think they know what they are getting. A healthy Manning for a few years and then Tannehill taking over like Rodgers in Green Bay is awesome.

I wonder if Miami couldn't trade back to 15 or so acquire extra pick(s) and then get Tannehill?

Though it could easily backfire with Manning never being healthy and Tannehill being a draft bust. However, if this is the route they go, not sure you can complain that they didn't address the position.

Agreed. But, you and I both know there will be many people that will.

i'd take Osweiler, Cousins or Foles later in the draft. pick BPA at 8, and that most certainly is not Ryan Tannehill.

They've been here for 4 years, which is more than enough time to have gotten a QB already.
Can you blame Ross for trying to see what a guy like Parcells brings to the table? He isn't actually football savy you know, and Parcells is/was considered a great football mind. So he deferred, especially since we had drafted Henne, Henne showed some promise, and he was thinking Parcells was on the right track after seeing a one year sample with Huizengha.

I'd be very happy with that. Just like we should defer judgment on Flynn to Philbin, if Sherman says Tannehill can be a good NFL QB, and then let him learn from Peyton for a couple of years, then I'll be very happy with the direction of the team.

Funny I saw the same show and he said they could cover themselves by drafting R.Tannehill because their really high on him. That's a little different then they will!

If your signing Manning it's to win the Superbowl, therefore you get everything he needs to make that happen. A 3rd string QB doesn't win Superbowls! That can be had in the 4th or later, not with a 1st round pick.

I think I'll take the word of our coaches ahead of some fan on here's opinion on who to pick at 8 and if they think Tannehill is worth that 8 spot I trust the ones who actually know the kid.

This would be a great move to do this. It would obviously allow Tannehill years to watch and learn from one of the best QB's to ever play football and Manning would instantly bring the Dolphins in the Super Bowl picture.

Add a player that can help NOW at 8 IF Manning is signed. Whether it is a pass rusher or a RT to protect Manning, a QB developmental guy is not smart in my opinion.

I agree completely. If they sign Manning, they need to draft someone at #8 that can come in and start right away and make an impact. If you draft Tannehill at #8 after signing Manning, you basically wasted the pick on someone that is going to be on the bench. The Dolphins can't afford to do that at this point. They need more impact players. Draft BPA at #8.

trades

Look for an abundance of trades, not just for number(s) 1 & 2
Good possibility that Payton stays in Indiana
A few more quarterbacks to watch in FA not being discussed
2nd round of draft will be much more busy than ever!
The new cba will need a lot of tweeking after/during this draft.
Our best QB might be in next years draft
As for Payton......Don't sell the cow to buy a milking machine.

For that to happen, many things have to go our way in ***ency...if we don´t fill our holes, it is highly improbable (with the normal hit/miss ratio) that late draft picks will help out!!
