how about this... Trade brown for a first rounder next year. Give half of his would be bonus to Ty Law... We get by on Harris/Gordon/Minor first four games, then Ricky comes back... Then we established value for Ricky over the rest of the season, then at seasons end we trade him(will never forgive him for what he did) for consistent QB (Billy Volek TENN). Going into next years draft we will need a RB(D. Williams-Memphis, Bush-USC, Peterson-OK).... But we will have an est QB and Ty Law on top of what we already have... It sounds a little quirky but makes excellent sense!

Did you really say Billy Volek?

And why do the Titans want Williams, and why would they be willing to give up the guy that might be their future QB?

We drafted Ronnie Brown at #2. Whatever you guys say -- we drafted him at #2. We KNEW we were going to have to fork over some $, and a lot of it. It sucks, but it is what it is! He will sign on Tuesday.

Both. You need him but pay him that much? Jeez.

Same goes for Derrick Johnson. We need him, but he obviously wants more than the #15 pick should get.

how 'bout no

I would say that considering the many questions around Ronnie, that the $22M guaranteed is way too much. Pay him a decent signing bonus, pay him a worthy salary, and then get on the field and prove what you can do.

But $22m Guaranteed?? Hell no.

...and this is your brain on drugs.

I find it ironic that Brown played 2nd fiddle to the Cadillac in college and now the Cadillac has signed before him.

their is less money involved with cadillacs contract

We drafted him #2 so we have to pay him #2 value. He is the future of the Dolphins and deserves to get his money asap.

As for the people that voted "Let him rot. We don't need him for $22 million." I don't understand your point. The player holds out until a contract is worked out with the team. This is nothing new and it seems that many of you think that Ronnie Brown is some kind of bad guy because he is doing something that every other NFL rookie would/is doing. Give the man his money and lets go.

We have lamar gordan, travis minor, and ricky williams come week 6. I want Ronnie Brown in camp but i dont want to give him $22 guarenteed. I just dont want to give him that money, and then find out hes a Ki-Jana Carter. Rare? Yes, but its still possible.

We can't even catch a break, the one year we get the #2 pick the picks are getting paid outrageous amounts. After next years draft this won't be a problem which will be good.

I totally agree with you #84Fan4Life, that's the Price you pay when you go 4-12. It kinda makes me wonder how this poll would look if Ricky had not returned or the weekly T.C. reports about him weren't so impressive. Something tells me that the red line would be streaking across the screen by now.
Pay up and get on with life, Teams like the Cardinals, Bengals, Browns and Colts seem to do just fine paying there number one draft picks.
Granted we are not very used to drafting this high and I hope were not even close to number two in 2006.

Peace...............................

Alex Smith signed an absurd contract thats going to set San Fran back 10 years, if thats even possible, because that would put the 49ers in like the 19th century or something.

Theres no sense in going crazy and giving Ronnie that kind of money. He can learn the position in a couple weeks, and the bottom line is that he just doesnt have that type of value. Few RBs do, and thats why Seattle and Buffalo were practically begging teams to take their RBs off their hands.

Let him hold out, let our front office negotiate, and we'll sign him soon enough. This trade talk is borderline insanity.

what do you think about the ronnie brown holdout?
Technically he's not a holdout because he was never under a contract. That said, I hope he gets in camp this week as I'd like to see him play in the Monday night game.
