Bye bye Gus

I disagree. Frerotte knows Linehan. Feeley knows virtually all of the offensive players. That sounds like a wash to me.

And Feeley's learning Linehan system as well as Gus in a shorter period of time...AJ clearly has upside.

I'm sorry -- was Feeley a rookie last year and everbody hid it from the world by suggesting he was a veteran from the Eagles?

The two situations aren't close to comparable. You might think he's the next Rich Gannon, but those who support Frerotte and Fiedler feel or felt the same way about them.

I understand that the situations are not identical. But the point I was making is that just because he didn't perform to starter standards last year doesn't mean that he cannot become a starter. I have no high aspirations of him becoming a Pro Bowl QB. I just don't agree that because he couldn't beat out Jay last year, that makes him unworthy this year.

I haven't seen anything to suggest Gus is struggling to learn any system. His problems seem physical. I also haven't seen anything to suggest AJ's problem is learning the system. As it has been since he came here, his problem seems mostly mental. I absolutely stand by my assessment and will be shocked to see Feeley make it as a starter here or anywhere.

It isn't just because of last year -- it's because of this year as well. Once might just be a coincidence, but twice starts to look like a pattern.

Feeley looked good tonight but Frerotte cam out really good and the WRs dropped alot of passes especially Chambers (I'm sad to say)

Frerotte really has a cannon, he has earned the job in my mind

The difference is Carey is a 23 year old second year lineman. Feeley is a 28 year old quarterback with less starting experience than some college seniors.

My point being, just because he didn't distinguish himself as a solid starter last year, doesn't mean he is unworthy to be a starter this year. I don't kow if he will ever be a solid starter. But I don't think you can look at his failures last year and make a detnation against him this year. Do you consider it? Absolutely. You should always consider past performance when projecting future performance. But you said it yourself. He has so little starting experience, he might just as well be a rookie. Or a college Junior. I jus think that the last 2 weeks, he has proven that he deserves a chance. And we agree on that.:)

Agreed. But don't you think he has been at least "solid" in his last 2 performances?

I wouldn't call his performance solid against the Steelers. It was Huard-like.

I haven't seen his performance tonight yet. I should have the game tomorrow thanks to my DVR.
