Calais Campbell to the Arizona Cardinals

Only if you are looking at it from a one-year-only perspective.

Longterm, the team is better off to draft his replacement than to sign him for one last year.
they could still keep him and draft a replacement. they are not mutually exclusive.

the only rationale i can come up with is either he wasnt coming here if we went to 6.5mm so it didnt matter or it is a purposeful strategy to have our defense suck so nobody wants to hire weaver away!
I hope he gets hired so that we can get a couple of comp picks

Good for him, we are going to suck anyways with or without him. When your best player on defense is a 40 yr old DT, you got problems as an organization.
I don’t think he was/would have been our best player on defense but he played well for us and yes, the defense needs a lot of help

Embarrassing for the Dolphins. Cardinals are not contending for anything. He was here and Miami was his hometown. Well respected. Not a good look for the organization that he didn't want to stay here in his hometown. DL remains a huge need. This one stings on more than one level:

Kenneth Grant is looking better and better to me....

Just let McGenius and Tua sink (probably not swim) with the o-line “talent” currently on the roster. Go heavy on defense in this years draft and Grier can focus on the o-line in 2026 under a new coach and either lame-duck Tua or a bridge QB.

It may not be embarrassing but it definitely sucks. Him gone, 1 starting caliber DT, Chubb and Phillips coming back off two huge injuries (hmm, let me guess what's gonna happen) above average linebackers, 1 starting caliber CB and maybe 2 halfway decent safeties... lmao. And people actually think we are going to be good?
There's still the draft, and the UDFA market, and the post draft cuts that may present more veteran candidates looking for jobs.

I think if anything it means we are a little more likely to trade down.
Not so far that they can't grab Grant, if one of the top IOL or CB isn't there at 13. Deep class for DTs but Fins should still be aiming for one of the top 2-3.

Umm it got out that he had a handshake deal last season to get released when we were eliminated from the playoffs.

#1 Grier and McDaniel are cucks for even agreeing to that. Another example of why our organizational culture is in the garbage.

#2 You can’t bring him back once that got out about one of your Captains
I really think more is made of that deal than is warranted. Guy was 38 years old on a 1-year deal, played hard while he was here. Had the Fins truly fallen out of contention what difference would it have made letting him go ring seeking?

I'm 100% sure nothing the Dolphins have ever done embarrasses you.
I'm embarrassed of ever having Nick Saban, Daunte Culpepper, Joe Philbin and Jonathan Martin representing this team.

I'm sorry I can't get behind your babysitter's club of overreacting like teenagers at every. ****ing. thing. Have fun though, don't stay up too late.

I agree it’s been worse. We got playoffs back to back years. Nobody else did that and afc sucked during those years. I’d we don’t make playoffs make a switch. But I never seen the hate for Philbin and other guys that McDaniel gets.

Only thing I don’t like is that I feel we are forced to pick a corner or d line in draft cause we have no d line or corners. It’s odd we usually don’t do that. Even Grier.
