Camarillo's Injury, a Blessing In Disguise?

There is no positive light from this injury. It sounds like Camarillo tore ligaments in his knee. That is never a good thing for a WR. Ronnie hurt his knee in October and there were questions if he would be ready for the start of the season. Camarillo probably won't be ready for TC, and there is probably a good chance he will be put on PUP to start the 09' season.

Even when he does come back, there is no guarantee he will ever be the same player.

I would like to think it is not that bad yet.

Frank Gore tore his twice
Ronnie Brown tore his
Jerry Rice tore his to return
Hines Ward as well I think EDIT: Turns out he doesn't have one. Never fully repaired from a childhood biking accident.

I think the worst part of this injury is that although I am optimistic about him returning to full speed, that will take 18 months which is the majority of the contract we signed him to.

Plus Camarillo has the right work ethic to make a full comeback and he was always more of a heady player than an athletic one. Although one can probably argue whether you would rather a faster player to lose some of his plentiful speed/cutback ability or would you rather a slower player to lose some of his precious little speed/cutback ability.

I still dont see Wr as a strength and now with Cam hurt it wont get better. We still only have 4 tds receiving from our whole wr core. I will say Cam was a good suprise, Ginn I still see as having alot of work to do and do not see him as that player that teams fear. As for get lucky, you do realize Wilford was signed to start and so far has been inactive almost every game. He has 1 catch this year. good luck on getting lucky.

Our receiver situation is somewhat strange. Devone Bess and Camarillo play the position with ease but neither of them possess great physical abilities that give them a push to become dominant threats. On the other hand, Ted Ginn Jr. has all the physical abilities to be a great receiver; however, he is still inconsistent, generally speaking that is. I think there are other positions in this team that warrant attention and that is our defense in general.

Our defense managed to make great stops in third down but certain players in our secondary gave up the longball and we know who they are. We lost Camarillo but giving up over 40 points is probably one of the biggest dissapointments this season.

The biggest problem on defense is CB. We also need a young dt. The De's are a work in progress but we have talent. The linebacking corp as a whole is solid and could use a nice OLB in the draft. That being said receiver should be a priority.

My offseason priority list

1-CB
2-Wr
3-DT
4-S
5-OLB
6-OL any and every position

I'd strongly disagree but I guess it depends on your perspective, eh?

Its a shame Camarillo went down, that said, we've got move on and embrace the next WR in line. (hopefully Bess)

My guess is this injury to camarillo... will put a real focus on the WR position in the off season!!! all the 2nd tier WR's available in F/A will be possible options for Miami!!! i also think that most of the 1st days draft picks will address WR and possible TE's... as grimm as it seems right now.. this F/O will not panic... i think they already know who they are going after!!! lets hope for the best come 2009!!!

Trying to be optimistic about the situation here, but I really think now is where Ginn and Bess will succeed. Ginn will be the definite go to guy for the rest of the season, and it will be time for some redemption. Bess will continue to improve, and correct me if I am wrong he will be playing #2 reciever. Pretty good for an undrafted rookie. However, this is time for both of them to prove to the FO that they are reliable recievers and I think they will.

C'mon the coaches won't really put Ernest in, so this is what we got. I honestly think Ginn is going to be the next stud reciever, just as good as Chambers at the minimum. I also think Bess will go far, each farther then Camarillo will.

Just trying to brighten up some saddened Fins fans day with a lil optimisim.
I don't see any blessing in losing Camarillo.

Seems that some have taken it the wrong way. I would prefer for no one to get hurt, but now that one of our top recievers are down we will get a chance to see more Ginn, Bess, and London. Rather see one of them breakdown now then in the middle of next season(Like Wilford did to us this year). We are preparing our recieveing corps for the future with this injury. In the long run, I think this will help the team.

This is why I think we take Ramses Barden in the draft. He's 6'6, 230 lbs and has demonstrated the ability to take over games, although it was against small schools.

I don't think this is a blessing in disguise. Anyway you try to disguise it. It is still a season ending injury. And other receivers on team have not always been the most consistant.

I guess if anything. You can say this is where Ginn can start to prove his worth as #9 pick by being the go to guy. But as I didn't see us as a playoff team before injury. I see us as less of one now. And even though I had the feeling Pats were going to hand last game to us. I was still proud of the way they were hanging in there. But losing Cam hurt.
