Can you name some of the guys people screamed for us to draft?

or sign and turned out to be duds so far?
P.K.Sam-guys on this board where besides themselves when we didn't sign this guy and vowed he would make an impact in this league..so far nothing
Adrian McPhereson-Qb who is buried on the NO Depth Chart...isn't even a consideration for QB in NO
Fred Russel-remember the f/a scat back we signed for ko/pr duties..he was supposed to be this incredible sleeper...turned out to be the second coming of John Avery..disappeared
can anyone else think of anyone?

Ronnie Brown was a good pick at #2..I liked Frye..but he did not fit Linehans system at all.

Can't think of anyone of yet, but McPherson is the best player on your list and has a chance to be a starting QB. His problem is exactly what you said, buried on a NO depth chart. Now that Brooks is gone, he might get his chance in training camp. In a few years, he will be a productive QB for some team.
 
The P.K.Sam one always makes me laugh..some guys were adamant about him...was going to bite us in the butt one day...still waiting.
 
I wanted Boldin in the 2nd bad that year.

if it is any consulation,,,I wish we would have listened to you. I think Frye is going to be a good qb.
 
Last year, people wanted us to draft Ernest Shazor in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Undrafted to the Cardinals.
 
Brett Williams a tackle from FSU a few years back.George Foster a tackle with Denver now...Jeff hatch..a tackle drafted by the Giants a few years back. Tyrone Calico..people wanted us to take him with our first round pick.

It is pretty funny...he was the man...we hoped he would fall to us I think at 17...turned out to be #1..and now...guys are dead set against him coming here!

I think you're right. Frye will be good but he's more of a west coast qb as opposed to a vertical qb. I think he wouldve been alright here but someone like Cutler is more of what we're lookinf for. i'm happy with Brown and i wouldve been happy with edwards too if we had gone down that road. Saban did a great job overall with our draft last year and the only gripe i had with him is roth over frye but like you said frye might not be the optimum fit for our offense. if we get a good qb this year and roth pans out then saban will have had a perfect draft last year

it seems to me anybody who was screaming for merriman should give himself a pat on the back. that guy seems to be the best of the first rounders
