Channing Crowder announces retirement

He's been retired for a couple years now as far as I am concerned. All mouth and never lived up to any expectations.

I'd say 379 tackles in his first 4 years is probably beyond expectations of most 3rd round players.

Yes but all those tackles were him chasing other people after they got by him in the first place.

Randy Starks had more interceptions in 1 game than Crowder has in his entire career.....

Give the guy a break...there wasn't a TE in the league that Crowder wasn't able to stay within 5 yards of all the way to the endzone.

I find it rather telling that no other team expressed strong interest in him. I didn't dislike Crowder, but he never lived up to our expectations and was really just an average starting LB that made some tackles but never made any big plays...simillar to Morlon Greenwood.

Many of his supporters claimed the defense was better against the run with Crowder.
Last season we were ranked third in the league against the run without him.
Channing was a liability out there and a waste of oxygen.

When an opposing player of the team that last beat you in the playoffs blatantly spits on a member of the Miami Dolphins, and you don't get upset about it, you know something is wrong there.

Crowder was probably my least favorite Dolphin player after only Ray Lucas. All Crowder did was run his mouth. He never made one big play in his life...Ohhh wait I do remember one time he actually did make an interception.... I think it was in the 2009 season.

I don't think he's a great player by any stretch of the imagination, I think he's just another guy, but I don't think he's as bad as some of you guys think he is, as it did take us more than half a decade to replace him. He significantly out preformed Derek Hagan (2006), Lorenzo Booker, (2007), Patrick Turner (2009), and there seems to be nowhere near the amount of criticism for those players, and that's because Channing actually managed to stick around and start for 5 years. He's as good a 3rd round pick as we've had in some time. You guys are judging him like he was a top 10 pick.

that int of crowders in 09 i think i was was only cause of cam wake draped all over tom bradys legs and brady throwing it right in crowders basket as he was going to ground to avoid the game ending sack...whole play a product of cam wake
