Chris Perkins: Dolphins headed for mediocrity in 2025 before 2026 rebuild

He got that because he runs a country club
His own player hung him out to dry last year about lacking practice and accountability
If I worked for him, got paid and can have no accountability I’d give him a positive grade too. Where do I sign.

Of course the players gave him an A plus, they’re getting paid for taking it easy in the Miami sun hahahha
Player survey is a joke, even if it actually exists
Amen.

I ****ing hate agreeing with Easy...

There are no leaks. It’s made up to fit an agenda. Just like claiming to watch the tape on Borom. All these posters claiming that Borom is terrible based on fvcking PFF rankings can bounce. They’re just regurgitating what the media tells them.
That right there is the Cliffs Notes version of this thread. Well done @clownfish

So your plan is to trade the best QB we’ve had since Marino and hope that a 7th round QB develops into a better starter? Wow. Terrible take. Ewers is NOT it.
Yep, that's my plan, and it's an amazing take. Ewers would have 2027 to show what he's got, and if he proves to not be an answer at the position I would throw an entire draft at Manning. lol

You obviously thought my plan would stop at Ewers, but we're just discussing the next couple of seasons. I figure a good GM will either draft another QB along the way or have a plan to draft one at some point down the line. Manning seems like the talent no one should want to miss out on.

And yes, I was optimistic a couple years ago, and I came to the realization in real-time, for the first time, that this team is fraudulent. It didn't take for the current HC or GM to be gone for it to sink in that they weren't what the team needed.

You can call mine or other posters' posts nonsense all you want, I call what the Miami Dolphins organization has become nonsense. Is it lazy? I dunno...how much "work" do you put in to being a fan of a sports team?

I try to be critical without being silly.

You want to talk about tanking as short-sighted or about how pivoting 180 degrees in '21-'22 shows a lack of leadership or about how hiring a HC and then firing him for not being the right guy just a few years later or about how drafting WR #6 overall and then trading the world for another the very next year shows a lack of coherent vision...

...dude, there's a reasonable way to sound intelligent in one's criticism by highlighting how Dolphins leadership have contradicted themselves or simply demonstrated they have little vision given the lack of coherence in the year-to-year moves.

Complaining about being "fraudulent" or moaning about 20-year Playoff droughts is lazy though, especially when it leads into people saying other 'don't have high standards.'

Those are non-sequiturs. There are real issues and if a poster focuses their criticism on those with real effort, I have no issue with that dissent. It's what many do. It's what I do.

I think it's easier to believe people want to feel justified in hating the team when it doesn't win. They're upset. They want figures to blame and they want to feel superior in their view so they lie about how they truly feel. Their hurt so they cover it up. Most of it's subconscious. And it's a waste of time to listen to.

It's self-righteous nonsense.

It just the outlet for fans who've given up. And that's fine mind you. I just don't think it gives those people the basis to criticize others whose perspective leads to different conclusions.

I'm sick of listening to people complain about this team. Grow up and move on. Do something else with your life, I say. These kinds of negative people would be equally pessimistic if they were Bengals, Chargers or Ravens fans.

This cynicism is their personality. It has nothing to do with the Miami Dolphins. When you realize that you'll hate them for who they are and not what they claim to have suffered through.

I’ve watched every game more than once.

One thing I’ve learned in my over 45 yrs of NFL watching and Miami Dolphins fandom is that when you have a favorite team you become overly critical. Again, I’ve seen no evidence that McD is worse at using TO’s than the league in general. It’s like the other guy who honestly believed that delay of game penalties were some major flaw in McD’s coaching. In reality, he’s gotten much better each season and he was 3rd best in the NFL last season. We watch the Dolphins and hope for perfection and when that doesn’t happen we get overly critical.

We have to also take into account that players affect the plays timing pre and post. Some of that is on McD, some of that is on having new players, some of that is on the player for not knowing the play. But again, wasted timeouts seems to be a huge issue in the NFL right now. IMO, I think the limited practicing allowed by the NFL and Player’s Union plays a huge part in that.
We will agree to disagree then. If you watch the play clock on every play it goes down to the wire. That is my proof. When the least little thing goes wrong, call TO.

Disingenuous my ass...there are plenty posters on this forum who are perfectly happy with one-and-done in the playoffs.

You can blame it on injuries all you want. Reality says there are tons of injuries in the league every year, and there's no reason to expect otherwise...its the norm.

Fraudulent? Maybe. They were definitely pretenders, though. McDaniel went from wizard to magician, and not in a good sort of way like an Edgar Casey or whatever but more like the guy with bag full of trickery. No real magic. Very one-dimensional, actually.

That is what ultimately sealed his fate with me very early last season. He's not a man with a hundred answers. He's a man with the same answer to everything. When that answer gets defeated, he has nothing else to offer but quips and looks. The nerd facade has faded away. He's just a less athletic jock with probably a penchant for drug use. Would not doubt if everyone running this team is on drugs, frankly...

Can you show these leaks? I’ve honestly looked and haven’t seen any players bad mouthing McD.
The LB from GB last year made a comment. The safety that went to the Steelers who played here, pretty good too, blasted us. Ad the there's Jalen Ramsey. McClown even mentioned 'the fines don't work for players being late or skipping meetings'. Lack of respect, Shula would not tolerate that. You have to kinda 'read between the lines' a bit here, but it's there.

It’s hilarious that people who cover the NFL still try to use terms like “rebuilding.” Sorry, the NFL doesn’t work that way these days. Any team that pretends it’s in a multi-season “rebuild” basically sucks and is just using the term to buy time for employees of said team, to avoid spending money, and to get the media off of their back while still rolling in TV money.

With the amount of resources and capital we had in 2019, barely making the playoffs twice and getting destroyed in the first round and faltering down the stretch every season is an absolute failure anyway you look at it. You should have higher standards as a fan, limping into the playoffs a couple years is acceptable to you for this regime? I’m willing to give the coach a bit more leeway if he actually improves on his flaws as a coach which we all know I’m not going to rehash, but Grier and this FO? Absolutely not, they have mismanaged this rebuild so poorly and have passed up on so much elite talent, I have no faith at all in Griers ability to build a winner.

So if the new front office wants a new coach then so be it, I will trust their evaluation as long as Ross hires someone from a competent front office…but I think we are not doing our jobs as fans if we accept and settle for mediocrity, which is what our results have shown us to be.

It is absolutely gross negligence. And incompetence.

Minkah? He went to the Steelers. He left due to Flores. Is Ramsey being traded because he couldn’t abide by team rules? Was he being fined and it didn’t work so McD is booting him? What else can he do?

I’m coming up blank about a LB from GB?

Manning has played 2 games and now he’s the savior of the franchise. Insane at worst. Delusional at best.
