Another Dolphins Fail.

If I were jordan I'd ask for a trade. He's unfairly being labeled a bust when he hasn't had a chance to really prove himself. This coaching staff is ridiculous, what a waste of a pick. Hell if you were never gonna start the kid I'd have rather taken a lineman. At least he'd start and make an impact all year.

Once we get a "real" coaching staff, this kid will be starting.

The league does have several good scouting departments and GMs. For those, there's not too many players they don't know about. Real talent that is underutilized does not go unnoticed. When you consider every HC and OC studies extensive game film on every team they play, they know everything there is about the opposing team's defense.

I'm sure Dion Jordan is not an unknown quantity across the league. He has no worries about the "bust" label. Good coaches look beyond stats.

I would have loved a WR pick instead of Wallace, or a TE, but the staff would probably not use them correctly anyways. Cornfed LT would have been largely booed, probably by me as well, but I would have warmed up to it considering the known holes on the o-line (and avoiding the aftermath that now ensues would be quite nice). Even a high-round RB would have been good, for needed depth, and taking Daniel Thomas' inconsistency out of the equation and giving Tannehill/Sherman another option.

What I don't understand is, if Ireland's seat was hot around draft time, why would he choose a developmental player? Wouldn't an instant contributor be the better choice?

First. Dion Jordan was a great pick and has tons of potential. the guy is a freak and will flourish. but.... right now he sucks against the run and has a lot of work to do, he will be a great player but right now he is not and I really don't see where is the problem to use him as a pass rusher right now. Sherman is the guy that frightens me not Coyle.

I think in all fairness to Dion, his utilization, his role on the team and the DC.... Dion was probably intended to be brought along as an initial pass rushing specialist that could help close out games when the opposing team was trailing.

Let's all think about this.... if we we WINNING most games in the 4th, Dion's roll and impact on this team would be much more evident and flashier than it has been. Having a fresh pass rush guy who can play just about any position in the front 7 is a great neutralizing force to offenses running the no huddle and passing every down to make a come back.

When you are trailing in almost every game, pass rushing specialists don't get to see the field much. And tend to be dead weight in the rotation.
Excellent observation.

Jordan might be a solid 3-4 player but he is not the second coming of Jason Taylor and has no posiion in a 4-3
