Coaches will limit Miami Dolphins rookie Dion Jordan for remainder of season

This coaching staff lobbied for Ireland to draft Jordan. Before the draft the whole organization met and agreed that if they could have any player in the draft it would be Jordan. I think they actually got great value in the trade with Oakland to move up to the number three pick in the draft. I think Jordan has immense upside and will ultimately prove that it was worth the move up to draft him, he just needs a season or two to develop and a coaching staff that knows how to utilize his talent.

Well to be fair he was limited at Oregon also. He has never been a full time player. I dont get why people think Coyle is stupid. If Jordan was ready to play full time Im sure he would be playing him. What does he gain from puting a lesser player on field.
We drafted the wrong Oregon player in my book. Alonso has been a stud while Jordan is just another guy. He does have some good pass rush ability but you have to be able to do soemthing else.

We moved up for this? Ireland clearly has to go just for his personnel decisions. We could have drafted a solid O-lineman or addressed other needs. :rolleyes2: Hopefully Jordan will work out but what a waste of an early pick.

I think the proper comparison isn't Eddie Moore but Jamar Fletcher.

Looks that 6 year old scout was right, Jordan was a reach for the first round, let alone trade up to the 3rd pick for him.

Imagine if we fired Ireland last year and we had a competent GM making that 1st round pick, the two 2nd round picks, and two 3rd round picks. Sadly, I knew he'd find a way to screw it up then.

Ah well, whats another wasted 5 years.

No amount of "imagination" or "creativity" is going to get Dion Jordan physically able to set the edge at the NFL level.

The problem is that Jordan's natural position is a 3-4 outside linebacker, and this team doesn't run a 3-4 defense. There was obviously an under-appreciation by Jeff Ireland of the needs of the coaches for whom he was drafting players.

Line him up as a linebacker in the 4-3 like Von Miller. Lined up behind Cameron Wake, he could cause destruction.

They don't dare play him. He can't play the run, pure and simple. Great draft pick there Mr. Ireland.

I remember him making a few tackles against the run earlier in the season. Wheeler is horrible against the run yet they still play him.

Tbh I think it was a good pick but the baboons won't play him.

I agree I have like what I seen in Jordan in coverage as well as putting pressure on the QB. Everyone knows he needs to work on stopping the run but we could hardly stopped the run against Tampa regardless who the DE's were.
