Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

When Free Agency starts next off season and the Taylor to Miami rumors start all over again, should we start a new thread or just go back to this one again?

I don’t see any way they keep him beyond the trade deadline. But again they have an owner who doesn’t even deserve to breathe so who knows.

Just dawned on me this thread is now primed to pass the Dalvin Cook is Cooking thread. FML

Anyone know how Pup works? Since colts left him on pup he has to miss first 4 games however if he’s traded does Miami have to honor that pup placement or do they get a chance to hold a roster spot for him

He is required to spend the first 4 weeks on PUP even if he is traded before the 4th game is played. The team trading for him can activate him from PUP once the 4th game is over and assuming he is healthy enough to play.

I seriously don’t understand what the Colts are doing. Jonathan Taylor for 13 games is less valuable as an asset than Jonathan Taylor for 17 games. There’s no way they’re going to get a better offer by the trade deadline. And now you’re putting his medical on blast essentially.

And Jonathan Taylor needs to hire a new agent….. he played this terribly wrong. The Colts can put Taylor on IR for the entire season and he’d still owe them 1 remaining season before he can become an FA. I just can’t see him suiting up for the Colts this season.

This really isn’t over. It’s going to linger over until the trade deadline and we are probably going to stay involved. Barry alluded to that.

Everyone took an L here aside from Grier. He made a fair offer and stood his ground. Refused to bid against himself. Obviously the “second team” was Jim Irsay himself — that ignorant coke head bitch.

May this thread live on!!

This is basically a rebuilding year for the Colts since they plan to start a rookie QB. They obviously hope that Taylor might change his mind and sign a new contract. If not they probably hope that they can trade Taylor to a team before the trade deadline that will offer them more than what they were offered by the Dolphins or the so called mystery team.

Under the contract with the league, since Taylor already has three years in the league, even if he is placed on IR and plays no games this season, he still gets credit for the year and would be a free agent once the 2023 season is over.
