COMMENTARY: What is Wrong with this Franchise?

I said this on gameday and Ill say it again.. This is the life of a dolphin fan. Ill never forget what my cousin said to me once, (who used to be a Dolphins fan), he said "they just cant get it right, no ,matter what. It doesnt matter who the coaches are, who the players, who is in the front office, none of it matters, they just cant get it right."

We rank right there with the Lions (of old), Browns, Jags, Bengals (of old), etc... The Dolphins have been consistebntly one of the worst teams (right around bottom 5) in the league over the past 10 years

This team is cursed, and I really do believe that. I'm not even sure they will win a superbowl in my lifetime and I only have about 50 years left.

I'll be as real as I can be:

1) Tannehill is going to struggle on this team, he simply is, however...he needs to limit his mistakes and he needs to show improvement each week. Elevation in his play will bring the whole offense up a peg or two and that is what good and elite QB's around the league do, they elevate when the need arises. All Miami needed was one drive with a TD and the Jets would have been out of reach but no dice. By game six I predicted Tannehill would "click" and the light would go on, let's see in the coming weeks if I was right.

2) I know the receiving crops sucks but catch the ****ing football. Five drops a game is not acceptable by NFL standards regardless of how ****y you are. Miami is near, if not at the top in dropped passes.

3) Please draft or sign a real safety. Jones seems to be holding his own so please go after a play making free safety...check check check...is this thing on? Ireland do you hear me? Hello!

4) Outside pass rush sucks ass, Miami needs to figure out a way to get more pressure on the QB.

5) Where are all of our mismatch specialists? Clay, Egnew, etc...not knowing the playbook at week 4 of the regular season is not acceptable, learn or move over so someone else can occupy a roster spot and contribute.

6) Philbin please never ice the kicker again unless you only have 10 men on the field and need to get your block team organized, icing only works in Hockey and even there it is a penalty.

7) Sherman please don't abandon what works you seemed to understand that in the Oakland game and cruised to a win then in quarter 3 of the Jets game you had a serious brain fart and I'm not sure if you got the "blue screen of death" or what but you rebooted and suddenly snapped out of it mid 4th. Let's fix the operating system so that doesn't happen again man.

The biggest problem with our franchise, in my opinion, is instability.

We've changed owners, we've had numerous head coaches, numerous GMs, numerous QBs, numerous OC & DC.

It seems like every two years we have new schemes and a new player at the most important position (QB).

Look at all the best franchises in the NFL (Giants, Ravens, Steelers, Packers, and Patritots). They have stability at almost all levels.

Fans in Miami are just not patient. Once someone has one bad year we crucify everyone and want to change it all over again.

That's just my two cents.

Stability is a byproduct of good coaching and good drafting, which equals winning. All the teams you mentioned have both of the aforementioned attributes. We could have stayed with Tony Sparano for five more years and we still wouldn't be a good team. Stability for the sake of stability doesn't equal winning.

Sparano was no NFL Head Coach. That was easily seen in his 2nd season, but changes coaches every year means new schemes every year.

No way to tell if you have good players if they need to learn a new system every year.

Will the fans be patient with Philbin? Will the fans demand Ireland be ousted?

If Ireland is ousted, you all know that most likely means a new Head Coach right?

We Lost to the Jets at Home. A Game We Should Have Won. Period. Winning Fixes Many Issues. The Dolphins have been Rebuilding and Shuffling for Over a Decade. And it is the same Old Story. Passing on the Right Players, Poor Drafts, and Losing Games they should have Won. Like This Past Sunday.

I Blame it on Ownership and Jeff Ireland. It Starts at the Top. Plain and Simple. The Dolphins need a New Stadium, not in Miramar. But a Location Folks Would Want to Go. Stop the Orange Carpet, and Fixing up a DUMP, that Used to be Called Joe Robbie Stadium which was Built to House Baseball Too. That is why the sight lines suck, and the seats are so far from the Action/Losing! The Marlins had the Sense to Leave. Letting the Miami Sound Machine and Marc Anthony Run Your Team sums up Stephen Ross. Name another owner in the League that would let that happen. Bush League. Flying out to land Harbaugh as your Coach, and not coming through is why he will never be the "Guy" and Ireland is what he is, a total hack.

The Dolphins Need New Ownership, New Culture, and a New Stadium, maybe things will Turn Around. I hope I live that Long. Last AFC Championship Game 94? SuperBowl Appearance 84? Yikes!

I am sure if you come up with a billion dollards Ross will listen to your offer.
Hopefully you will have enough left over to build your stadium.

I find it bizzare when people online who put no cash or time directly into the running of the business demand a team builds a new stadium have you any idea how much that would cost?
