Completely Dissed by FOX..

I agree with you guys, I think we should make a mental note of these pre-season posts and re-visit these thoughts later in the season.

I think that being optimistic about the season is being realistic. If Saban can instill this sense of urgency and mental toughness that he so often talks about I think that the sky is the limit...

Many teams before us have done it - St. Louis, Carolina, New England come to mind. None of these situations were identical nor were they pre-annointed by the media...

the field turf is some of the best stuff in the NFL. atleast we're not playing on the "infield" like some stadiums...:fire:

Thats cause Buffalo is only home to 2 major pro sports teams.

I just don't like the point to say we could have taken the second best QB... Don't even mention a name. My guess is because even they know that there was NO QB (besides Smith) worth the number 2 pick. That is just a poor cheap shot.

I do agree that we should have taken a QB, IF there was a worthy one, but come on reaching at the number 2 pick is what causes bad teams. Have to draft BPA. That part of the article is just silly.

Yea amen to that.

Im glad we didnt take Rogers and every other team after us validated us passing on him due to the fact that he fell all the way to Green Bay.

There were obvious other teams that could have used a QB, Cleveland being one of them. I guess our scouts were right on with Rodgers.

Other than that, the dude it just a writer. People take cheap shots when a team is down. We havent been down in years and years so people are having a field day for the 2 years we will be down. You dont see anyone taking a cheap shot at NE, but I was around for the 1-15 glory years where everyone and their mother took cheap shots at them. Or else how about the Bills SB run? Everyone took cheap shots at them for YEARS, and they still do.

Its just our turn. Until we have a winning season, I can handle the cheap shots because Ive been giving them out since I was born. I can handle them for acouple years. I would bet there was a record number of Bills, Jets, and Pats trolls on this board last year and a record number of reporters taking cheap shots at us.

When you have winning franchises, you have people that flat out hate you because you win. Perfect example is the Yankees, either you love them, or you flat out hate them. Any writer who is a fan of Buffalo, NYJ, or NE will flat out hate us because we have been so competitive since the 80s. You can make the same case for an Indy writer because Indy was in our division when we were competitive.

It just comes with the territory. Get used to it for this year, I have a feeling we will see a lot more. If it really bothers you, write the guys name down and when we are competing for the AFC East in 2-3 years, send him an email and tell him to go fawk himself.

Five teams that'll be just awful

2. Dolphins  Given the opportunity to select the best quarterback in the draft besides Alex Smith, Miami opted to pick a running back. With Ricky Williams returning from his bizarre off-season of finding himself (smoking cannabis) and holistic healing, the Dolphins now seem to have an embarrassment of riches at running back. Well, that'll only be the case when Williams is done serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. When Williams comes back, the Dolphins could be 0-4. This is because of the team's complete lack of quality at the quarterback position. Miami continues to struggle to fill that spot with anybody good since the retirement of Dan Marino.

Five best cheerleading outfits
3. Dolphins  Teal is a horrible color to sport if you're attempting to be a respectable pro football team, but the color is great on the outfits of the league's sideline eye candy. While the product on the field in Miami figures to be horrible at best this season, the fans can still enjoy this team's lone redeeming quality, its cheerleaders.

Just a comment on our team colors...The color-blind individual who wrote this has absoluely no taste or color-sense...Our color combo is one of the sharpest in the league! And no I'm not a color coordinator but I'd take on this guy or gal any day (just hold the orange shirts please......:)

Same old shizam, just a different day. It goes in one ear and out the other for me. Big deal

"2. Kyle Orton  Turns out Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers were totally overrated and Orton was really the best quarterback of the 2005 draft class."

this guy invests waaaaaayyyyyyy too much in the pre-season. wouldn't be suprised if he was a bears fan. He didn't mention the bears once when they arguably should have been included in the teams that will be just awful part. After all they did have the 4th overall pick.

Theres nothing from the preseason that should make analysts excited about us.. we have to win games that matter.. End OF Story!

Must be a JETS fan after the Aqua comment. I mean they have been a respectable football team longer then most teams in the league. What a loser he probaly doesnt even watch football unless his boyfriend makes him

Bros and Bras,

This guy just said what most of us know to be true. Maybe he gave us the more concentrated version when really we were looking for a watered-down, kid gloves kind of reality. FACT: We don't have the QB we need. Actually, it's like the scene from Varsity Blues, when the coach just ripped that Mox guy for sucking, then when his star QB gets hurt he hands the ball to Mox and looks him in the eye and says, "I'm behind you and I believe in you." It's just so sad to see him faking it. Saban is doing the same thing with Frerotte. We know he isn't that great, but we're acting like he's gonna lead us to greener pastures. Another FACT: We have a ton of people this year that have "underperformed" their entire careers, but have terrific upside. Well, that upside doesn't mean jack in this league until you back it up with some production. I.E. Boston, Chambers, Schulters, Booker etc. etc. FACT #3: There are place kicker coaches with more NFL experience than Nick Saban. I love what he is doing, but there isn't much conversation about what he has done. I think he will be good, but he hasn't proven that yet.

I just named a few reasons, but there are more. These writers are using them to predict our doom, as they see it. Imagine a guy out there that starting writing about how we'll win our division this year. Imagine if ESPN started their sportscenter with how we will be competing with the Eagles for this years Superbowl. That guy would be fired immediately. Instead, they all band together with these safe picks so that they sound smart. In other words, if everyone says that Miami sucks then they can't be wrong can they? Time will tell folks. Time will tell.

thats true, but i would rather have a nice field for footbal over a baseball team and having to play football on the infield.

i hate baseball. its all about football.

I dont agree with the article but you just have to take positives from it. That being, I hope the Phins post that up in the locker room and get some of that fire that Saban has been looking for. Nothing feels better than proving the critics wrong. Go PHINS!!!

hold up fellas

ISNT the Jags unis teal also ? they look like a shade darker but its still teal right? screww the media if I could be at every game i would be but since i am in a bind right now i will root for the fins and wear my jerseys . This is what dolphin fans need to do , they need to show up for games even if the women go topless even if a certain dolphin fan shows up on his ridding lawn mower pulling a keg of beer. fill that stadium up and then write a note to the critics and say ," Bend it flush buttwipes ,the dolphins are coming back ,so back off, then tell espn that the dolphins finest fan will be paying them a visit and they will wish that a house would have fell on them.:fire:

Well, the fact that the Fins took a RB can be looked at in several ways...I'm not sure even Smith was worth taking at #2...It was a very weak QB class. The next best player was Brown...We did NOT know whether RW was coming back at that time, did not know what sanctions would be leveed (sp) upon him if he did return, and we still don't know how long his head will stay in the game before he goes back on walkabout...Saban did the smart thing by drafting the best player available when we chose...He also tried to trade the pick down, but wouldn't take less than it's worth, smart again. We do have a lack of quality at QB...but again, at the time of the draft, AJ had shown some mettle in the latter part of the season, Gus was coming on board and figured to, at least, be a quality backup (which I still believe is true)...Things have not shaped up the way any of us would have liked, so far. The real season hasn't started yet. But based on these facts, the Fins are in for a long season. As fans, we are hopeful that things will become a little brighter starting on Sunday...We just have to wait and see. These media predictions are based on last years results and the preseason results...it's not too far off really...

We aren't that horrible. We are just the joke of the NFL right now b/c of our season last year. It's up to the team to prove everyone wrong.

Which is something I don't understand. Why are the Dolphins the butt end of everyone's joke, yet it was the 49er's that finished worst.

Just goes to show how everyone hates the Dolphins and the "Us vs the World" mentality is not wrong, but justified. I have never understood the animosity against the Fins.......is it because we haven't had losing seasons but 3 times in 34 seasons ?
