Chicago resident here....Trust me, you do not want Lovie
I didn't think about that same link about Dungy and Philbin. They might or might not ever discuss that with each other. I don't think Dungy wants a position like this, especially not his intention going in, but who knows. I wondered, when I first heard of the committee, if at some point someone on the committee starts thinking to themselves as things are discussed and worked on that they could do more for this organization. The big question is whether Tony Dungy would want it? He was deeply hurt by the death of his son and needed a break. It is interesting that he has this in common with Joe Philbin and Andy Reid.
I don't see it happening.
I've mentioned Jason Taylor before and I honestly think he's the right guy. From what I've heard, he'd actually be interested in that kind of job, whereas Marino has already quit once and turned it down a second time.
IMO the most important qualifications for this position are that the person wants the job and has a passion for it -- rather than being talked into it or bought into it -- and that the person cares about the Miami Dolphins organization. That's why I'm saying, go ask JT. He's a smart guy who is damn good at public relations and outreach. It could work.
J. David Wannyheimer - For once we agree... JT is really smart and it is interesting that he is part of Ross' inner circle. I assume that Ireland is dead meat and I would not be surprised if Jason Taylor is the preferred choice. The success of Elway in Denver has opened the door for smart, high profile ex-players to be considered for these roles. Jason, as a local hero could also be a unifying figure through this period of adversity.

You crazy man??? Stop bogarting that thing and pass it along. Wouldn't mind Jason being president of the team but I want an experienced GM replacing Ireland
I think Walrus maybe thought of something like this possibility in another thread and the thought crossed my mind as well. I guess there is a chance of someone else on the committee also maybe with some increased involvement with the team at some point. I think it's just a possibility but I really don't think there is any real interest of anyone on the committee doing this going in. Maybe were just being hopeful? The article seems just hopeful to me also.
