http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/story/1467105.htmlBut CBS' Phil Simms and Bill Cowher and ESPN's Ron Jaworski asserted the Dolphins are ``close'' to being a legit championship contender. ``It's a division up for grabs, and Miami is in a very good position,'' Cowher said. ``They've got a good foundation, are very physical, have a good, young quarterback and solid running game and offensive line. Now go get a playmaker on the outside and work to improve the middle of that defense.''
Simms' take: ``They're really close. I always liked Chad Henne, and I'm now more reinforced he's the guy. They need a playmaker, but it doesn't have to be the prototype receiver. Maybe a Percy Harvin type.''
And don't underestimate defensive coordinator Mike Nolan's hiring, Simms said. ``I am 100 percent convinced he will make it easy on them to succeed. They will make plays because the scheme can beat what the offense is doing. It's a unique style.''
Some other interesting nuggets from these talking heads:
Boomer Esiason predicted Henne ``will make a huge jump next year and should be one of the NFL's top 10 quarterbacks'' eventually.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/story/1467105.htmlJaworski believes Miami must make linebacker, especially an edge rusher, its top priority and should not trade for Arizona receiver Anquan Boldin: ``He's a descending player.''
