Cam Ward is far from just another running QB. The way he buys time with poise and waits for receivers to come open *before* running effectively is remarkable.
His poise under pressure is pretty special. And you can say what you want about USF, but their defense is no joke. He made it look like one in the 2nd half.

That’s because the new ownership did the right thing by offering the GM job to a former 49ers front office person in Adam Peters. It will be interesting to see Peters builds this team in the coming years. He has 120 some million to work with next year and looks like he found his franchise Qb.
It's not that I want to tank, I just fail to see any hope of NOT tanking. The indicators are all pointing to "very very long season".

Yep we could have 4 to 6 OC’s in a year. And we could have a high school QB couch calling plays.
If we make it to 5 wins, I'm scared this will be the case.
Grier Must do or say something behind closed doors to Ross, that makes the ol geezer instantly forget that Grier has been here for 24 years and we have ZERO playoff wins to thank him for.

We used to be elite at two positions, regardless of the year.
Center and backup quarterback.
Jim Langer. Dwight Stevenson.
Earl Morrall. Don Strock.
Now, we have neither. And man, does it show.
Center is such an undervalued position nowadays. I think it is the most important position on the oline.
I understand the need for a blindside tackle being able to handle these edge rushers, but the Center touches the ball on every single play and is responsible for calling out the protections for the line, not to mention handle his own assignments.
Many teams like to focus on collapsing the pocket up the middle in order to prevent QBs from escaping. he can easily be overwhelmed without strong support from his guards.
A solid center is the lynchpin to a successful offensive line.

Purposeful tanking is a completely asinine concept. It would destroy the credibility/integrity of the league. Vegas and sports betting organizations wouldn’t tolerate it. And it mocks everything sports represents. If someone truly believes in tanking a season, then why follow sport at all?

They didn't do anything. Hell we couldn't even tank properly. If they did we would have Burrow on IR right now instead of Tua.
