Daniel Thomas wishes he stuck to his career plan of being a safety

I've told Awsi this before and the rest of the forums. I don't think Thomas is a good or overtly talented running back. However, I think he is a very good fit for this offense. Better than Miller. He can catch quite well and is able to make the one-cut in the zone blocking we run. I think he will do well on Sunday.

You think he'll play much? I'm not sure. The regime kept two guys ahead of him. Seems like a stubborn bunch.

I watched the Bills game again tonight. Ju'Waun James has a lot more savvy than I thought. He holds all the time and gets away with it. That's not meant as a knock. It's a good thing. When James is beaten early he compensates by grabbing the jersey at the upper chest area or near the armpit. It's not obvious at all. Doesn't extend his arms fully. That would draw attention. He also used an arm lock once when his hand was compromised and there was no way he could grab. I left that viewing with a lot more respect for how advanced he is.

Honestly I'm not sure. He should be playing ahead of Miller automatically on passing downs and taking his carries away. He can actually catch. Miller has terrible hands I said a while ago Lazor likes to use his running backs as pass catchers. I really don't like Lamar Miller. He is exactly who he was at the U, inconsistent and below average. He can hit the home run because of his speed and acceleration but his inability to get consistent yardage is maddening.

hmmm you know he is pretty atheletic at his height and weight, I do wonder what he'd do with 20 less pounds.

What did Ireland see in him that caused us to trade up?

He saw a big runningback that he thought would be a physical runner. Turns out, much like a lot of bigger runningbacks in college, that since he's bigger than most guys in college he never learned how to actually run tough and now when he's no longer bigger than the defender he doesn't know how to compensate.

Daniel Thomas wishes he had stayed at safety? SO DO I!!!
