Danny Kanell defends Icognito, blames media for overhype

if cog was a racist in his teammates eyes they would be outing him to the media....they are not...media just blowing this up into more than it is...

jon martins a wuss

Doesn't matter if he is a racist....still used a racial slur while threatening Martin...

The people who label Incognito's comments as "racist" likely have never spent any time in a sports locker room...let alone a professional sports locker room. These people would have a massive heart attack and die if they spent anytime in a locker room and saw and heard some of the things that are done and said. The locker room is truly a different world. My guess is that the overwhelming majority of Dolphin players love Incognito because he is a flat out crazy mfer who they love going to battle with and would have their backs both on the field and elsewhere. Every team probably has one of these guys...Incognito's just probably the craziest out there.

Blame the music business and young black males who have wrongfully exploited a terrible word and as a result, it has become deeply ingrained in the hip hop culture.

well if theres one thing I'm not in touch with, its hip hop culture.

I can't even figure out a new rapper to DL to make a decent work out mix for the gym.

Your narrow minded view of athletes and football players leads me to believe that maybe you never spent time in a locker room.

No one has heard this tape. However, in the TMZ video, you can clearly hear Incognito is not being racist in his use of the word "nigga". "My nigga, Mike Pouncey. My nigga, Mike Pouncey." Prior to Pouncey repeating "this is the best man at my wedding".. Endearing. Not hateful.

Did he say he wanted to take a dump down Pouncey's throat and slap him in the face?

Or just perhaps its you with the narrow mind seeing that it isn't s big of a deal as you want it to be depending on the situation

I've said I was going to crap down the throats of teammates in a joking manner. That's why im curious how the voicemail sounds because a transciprt can be misleading without inflection or tone.

Yeah, you are going to get a more honest opinion from someone trying to make their name in this business over established people who have been established. Right. Geez.

I couldn't care less if it's over hyped. The more hype the better. Anything that shines the light on this pathetic regime is good for the agenda. They need to be gone. All of them.

Yes because it feeds your agenda.

Not sure how Incognio has shown such demand in NFL two teams before us just let him go. I think if we released both players more teams would be trying to sign Martin

Martin is done in the NFL. What team wants a crybaby who doesnt alert the coach as to the issues he is facing? On a scale of 1-10 last years Martin performance was a 2.5. Now that we know dude is emotionally fragile and disturbed that drops his stock further. NFL is a game/profession for MEN, not run to momma crybabies...BIG WEIRDO

Yeah, I'll take the opinion of Danny Kanell over Tom Jackson, Cris Carter, and Bill Polian (two HOFers and one
potential HOFer).

Yes you'll take their opinion because they support your point of view.

Sounds like you were bullied and now you're unable to rationalize information from an objective perspective. You only see one perspective. Which is dangerous and doesn't allow a proper investigation of all the facts.

This is a very dangerous profile. It blames guilt without trial, without defense, and without justice, which I thought America was based upon.

I guarantee if YOU were accused to a crime of any kind, you'd want fair treatment and justice.

You cannot ignore or discount varying opinions. You cannot discount the opinions of those who worked in those locker rooms and played the game at that level.

While I can certainly respect your RIGHT to have a voice and an opinion,

It's hard for me to take you seriously when you cannot do the same.

You don't have to have been a locker room to have had those comments made. I've had them directed at me in joke, and in sincerity.

Like the man said players like Incog are a valued commodity in the nfl.

Which is why he's now been kicked off (or soon will be) two teams. I'm sure a team will take a shot, but if he hasn't changed by now, he likely never will.

What a load of crap to blame the media for making a big deal out of blatant racism. Are you all suggesting it should be downplayed? Also can't believe Kanell pulled an "I've seen a few white guys use the N-word as a term of endearment, so now it's okay for all white guys to use it in any context". Some of the delusional fan reactions I've seen to this Martin episode are Penn State Riot-esque. Here's the transcript of the voicemail just so you guys know what you're defending.

"Hey, wassup, you half n----- piece of s---. I saw you on Twitter, you been training 10 weeks. [I want to] s--- in your f---ing mouth. [I'm going to] slap your f---ing mouth. [I'm going to] slap your real mother across the face [laughter]. F--- you, you're still a rookie. I'll kill you."

Racism and bullying is the buzz word these days for those who want to appear hip and thats the stance the media is taking along with lawyers whose motives are to line their pockets. I have no problem outlawing the N word as long is applies to both whites and blacks which would end this debate. As far as bullying somewhere someone has to be taught to stand up for themselves against these types of guys. If you think the law and lawyers are going to protect you from a bully once there is no money to collect you won't get a whiff of help from those guys. So eventually that leaves you learning how to defend yourself which you should be able to do once your not a child. Martin has 3 choices walk away from football and pursue his life somewhere else where he feels he fits in, take this to court as a martry type person the media is making him out to be, shake hands and try to find middle ground with his team-mates including Incognito and make the best of a sad situation. If Martin did the latter he would show he is the better man, his teammates would respect him and he would respect himself. This is crazy where this has gones when you consider his last tweet to Incognito from Martin is that they were fine and there were no problems then he turns around and in his next breath throws the guy under the bus. Martins has emotionial issues that everyone is overlooking that goes way past Incog.

Incog has had issues no doubt about it but regarding this situation it is appearing more and more that all Incog teammates are supporting him more than Martin. That is 50 plus guys who have slept, worked with the guy and the folks on the outside mainly the media main goal now appears to be discreditng the entire team and some fans are going along with it. That is nuts. The medias goal is to stir the pot to sell their media and the players are trying to win the next game. The media is winning here which is sad. The majority of the Dolphins team are African American and they are supporting Incog and they should know more than you or I the guys intentions much better than someone outside the organization. As far as making this a conspiracty theory the entire organization is in on is just funny because the entire organization was overhualed just last year too little time to instill a culture of bullying inside the Dolphins that the media is trying to sell. This whole situation is so weak and it is amazing the support it has.

There is no defending the language by saying thats lockeroom culture. Obviously Martin does not like being talked to like that because we are here its that simple. Maybe guys should wake up and realize that you should be more careful what you say and do. There is nothing funny about calling someone a N blank and deficating on their family. Its idiotic ideas like this is acceptable in lockerrom so its just cool is a dated conceot. If a player does not want to be dealt with like that you have to respect that regardless of what u do
sensitive or not, once anyone says "I don't apprieicate that"... it's time to stop.

Your narrow minded view of athletes and football players leads me to believe that maybe you never spent time in a locker room.

You're quite wrong. I suppose I should clarify...I didn't mean to say that ALL athletes conduct themselves like this. But, if you've spent any time at all in a locker room, you should know I'm talking about.
