Dansby not happy with Dolphins’ decision to dump Chad Johnson

Liking back signing Johnson was foolish! Given the one strike circumstance they knew full well he couldn't follow that. So now by rushing to cut a guy that is popular with other players you have you're defensive captain going public.

"They knew he couldn't follow"? You mean things like "STAYING OUT OF FREAKING JAIL!!!! That is why you sit down and tell them, "we aren't putting up with BS, you screw up, YOU'RE GONE"!!!

Like it even matters. Guys we cut Chad Johnson, not Jerry Rice. This guy is washed up, he doesn't make our team better or worst off. We'll be fine. Get over it.

I definitely agree with this in hindsight. At the time, since he had been such a model citizen in New England, I figured it was a no risk move. But he seemed to be of the impression that they were going to let him be a grade-A moron here, and that obviously wasn't the case.

Like I have said some the story broke this is way out of character for Johnson so due diligence would be to investigate before reacting. Especially with how off three wall the victim is! Something just doesn't add up. As far as the other stuff I think it is blown way out of proportion on here and in the media. Chad is a clown Philbin didn't like his mouth they talked about it no big deal.

Of you are talking about Marshall sure, but Johnson had ZERO arrest in 11yrs. By your theory why wasn't Misi cut?

Apparently Dansby hates the move and feels it is going to be an even bigger distraction by cutting him.

Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby voiced his displeasure at Johnson's release in an interview with a South Florida radio station Monday.

"I hate that we didn't stand behind him," Dansby told WMEN-AM on Monday. "I know the guys in the locker room would. But the organization felt a totally different way about the situation, and they probably had more information than we know. And they had to do what they had to do."

Dansby said that by releasing Johnson, the Dolphins created a bigger distraction than what would have occurred if the receiver was still a member of the team.

"It's going to be an even bigger distraction right now, I think, because of the simple fact we let him go," Dansby told the radio station. "I think if we were going to be with the guy, if he was going to be our guy, we have to stand behind him -- even though the situation came about. He didn't get that third strike."

Johnson has long been known for outlandish antics that annoyed his teammates as well as coaches. Philbin, a first-year head coach, talked with his players about Johnson's arrest before the player was released.

"I reminded them that on April 10 in our first team meetings, I said, 'Guys, I'd love to stand up here and tell you we're never going to have a problem here in Miami,' " Philbin said. "Do we want high-character guys? Yes. All 31 other coaches are going to say the same thing. But I specifically told them on April 10 that there will be problems that arise and you have to deal with them honestly and openly and directly. You've got to learn from mistakes and move on, and you can't hide from the problem."

One thing I will say is it is very possible that this woman is lying. But that really doesn't even matter at this point. If you surround yourself with trash and then they act like....well trash, who is that really on?? She is what she is and acted like you would think she would act. If Chad was hanging around a bunch of gangbangers and someone got shot and said "it was Chad who pulled the trigger" would it really matter?? Is that who you want representing your franchise?? Chad is gone, he HAD to be gone, and if Karlos doesn't like it I got bus fair for him back to Alabama as well.

True, but how many of these big name diva WRs Randy Moss, TO, Chad Johnson, Plaxico's have won super bowls ??

I think term diva is highly over used, like I pointed out in a thread yesterday that people were calling Mike Wallace a diva for holding out. I ask of Tannehill and Jones-Drew were Divas? Johnson has a mouth no doubt but by all accounts he is always one of the hardest workers on the team that's not a diva.

See that is my point over a decade in the league and other then being a clown Johnson is a good guy and good in his community. Just researching this Loxoda and my bull**** detector goes off

It's a simple fact that Chad Johnson has worked himSELF into a low margin for error situation, both by being a distraction off the field and by not playing well on the field. I like Chad. Always have. Probably always will. I've tracked him over the years, followed him on twitter, etc. I've defended him to people that talk bad about him. But I'm not going to sit here and pretend he doesn't cross the line (frequently) and put himself in situations where he's now got zero or very little margin for error. He does that to himself.

As for whether this is actually true or not...I mean you have to be pretty effing crazy to give yourself a 3 inch laceration on your forehead so that you can claim a guy hit you. And even Chad admits forehead-to-forehead contact happened. It's an unfortunate situation, and I'm not ready to throw the guy in jail yet (although that is a DISTINCT possibility that most people are totally unrecognizing when they criticize Miami for jumping ship)...but she's got wounds and if I've heard right, has given SWORN and taped evidence against him. She sunk his battleship.

And I do think another thing people conveniently overlook is that when Chad was in Junior College he was put on probation for domestic violence against a female. People act like that never happened just because it wasn't while he was in the NFL. He was a grown man, mature enough to know better, and he got into a situation where his violence against his girlfriend got him convicted and on probation.

Maybe he was innocent back then, too. I don't know. I don't really care. I just know the Dolphins don't need to be party to finding out.

Uhh, ONE arrest, not ZERO, which is one more than you or I had. And MY theory isn't important here, it's Philbin's theory and I suspect he would have been cut if Philbin would have been here. I know he would have been if I had been in charge (IF the information was there to support it). Chad was cut AfTER a couple of days where the FO had time to see what was going on. They know a lot more about what happened than Karlos.

Couple points.

It's Sid who did the interview. ANYONE who has ever listened to him knows he trying to get players to rag on the team. Always has. Last year he tryed REPEATEDLY to get Odrick to criticise Sporano to no avail.

CK posted the end of Dansby's statement where he backed off and said he supports the team.

The 1st team D looked terrible the other night (including Karlos). Philbin mentioned it in his presser saying the second team D played with energy and desire where as the 1st team D was just going through the motions.
This is the same crap they pulled last year. They were the main reason we started 0 and 7. (plus Marshall's drops)

How about stop doing interviews and get to work getting better ?

Just look how many times Rasheeda Wately changed her testimony on Marshall, and then through her attorney tried to extort money from him to go away. I am not saying Lozoda is doing this, what I am saying is people become predatory for money and a reality show fluzzy bears some looking into. Now I am no forensic expert but I am ruining a head butt that causes a 3inch gash would do other damage. I am still searching my post it just takes forever on my phone.

How hard he works has nothing to do with him being a diva. Chad is the defintion of NFL diva. And just to catch you up, Tannehill was not holding out on a contract that he was under, he had just not yet signed a contract. BIG difference.

I meant up to this point Chad had no arrest. You are missing my point which is they should have let NFL Security concluded it's investigation. Those guys are very good at what they do and uncover so many facts that never make the public.
