Dansby not happy with Dolphins’ decision to dump Chad Johnson

so i guess if this had happened to hartline instead of johnson then dansby would still whine about his 3 strike policy being violated and standing behind people. it's purely the principle of the thing with dansby. what's apparently true is dansby has no interest in certain principles or team morale. he yells fire while pouring gas on it.

Look like it or not leaders on the teem don't like how this was handled and if by some chance Johnson is exonerated this had serious potential to destroy the locker room.

No I think more like if you are Kia Misi nothing happens, but like hoops pointed out it is ok because Kia is young.

Should i start a cut Dansby thread? he is entitled to his own opinion. But until all the facts come out we'll never know

Whatever happen to innocent until proven guilty¿?
a football team isn't restricted by or even related to an ideal motif for something like, say a court of law. immediate and long-term team needs regarding public perception, team standards and cohesiveness supersede it.

It would be out of character for chad to headbutt his wife. now her on the the other hand, I actually can believe she headbutted him, lol. People dont understand that Chad was probably going to get cut anyways. Now, my big thing on this is that chad can 'definitely' still play! If you didnt notice, he murdered that corner on the slant route that he dropped. The guy knows how to get open! Problem is that he went overboard. Kind of felt as if he was over-compensating with his talk. Kind of reminded me of Mike Tyson late in his career. Oh well, good bye chad johnson, it was fun while it lasted.

Teams don't have time to sit around for a year or two for cases to go to court and be resolved. The dolphins have to decide whether a player is worth keeping or is a cancer to the organization. This case will probably still in court by the time season starts in 2013 because the attorneys will delay it over and over. The nfl is the one that will levy any sanctions against chad after it is all said and done.

Philbin did exactly what needed to be done. No one knows what Philbin told Chad what was expected when he signed but he made it clear after the PC that Chad needed to shape up. He got into a situation, he's gone. Philbin wants upstanding guys on the team and I whole heatedly support the decision.

As a leader, Dansby should have addressed it behind closed doors but chose not to. I am sure he understands that now.

I like Philbin. He was my first choice to hire and I really like what I have seen so far.

BTW. Since when does a team need to justify making a cut in training camp? The guy is fighting for a roster spot and not looking to impressive. This is being blown way out of proportion.

By getting rid of a distraction, the Dolphins may have created an even bigger one.
Middle linebacker Karlos Dansby, appearing on WMEN in Ft. Lauderdale with Sid Rosenberg, said that the leader of the team’s defense disagrees with the decision to cut receiver Chad Johnson loose.
“It’s going to be a bigger distraction because we let him go,” Dansby said, via excerpts of the show disseminated by WMEN. “He didn’t get that third strike. That’s just me personally. . . . We’ve been through worse. We’ve seen worse.”

But Johnson was on a one-strike arrangement. And it sounds like the coaching staff and/or front office didn’t do a good enough job explaining that to the team leaders when Johnson was signed.
Even if the players knew or should have known that Chad was in danger of being dumped if he made only one mistake, Dansby isn’t buying that Chad head-butted his wife.
“That’s not Chad,” Dansby said. “If anybody knows Chad, that’s not Chad.”

Dansby specifically said he’s “upset” that Chad was cut. “The man don’t drink, the man don’t smoke,” Dansby said. “He may clown around but when it comes to football, he’s all about football. That’s his life. For him to be in this situation, that’s unfortunate. And it’s out of character.”

My 2 cents:

"The man don't drink, the man don't smoke"? Is Ocho supposed to get a medal for not smoking pot? I'm sure Philbin will love this.

Keep your opinions to yourself, dude. We lose Jason, Yeremiah, and Will (Allen)--you are our veteran leader. ACT LIKE IT.

"Thats not Chad?" Sorry Karlos, Chad is a d-bag. Even if he didn't WWE his new wife, as a high profile athlete why even get involved with such a woman?

This kind of crap makes me respect Reggie Bush even more. Heres a guy who didn't live up to expectations in NO, had a high profile with a VERY high profile relationship with a woman who is serious bad news (albeit sexy), and he exceeded to levels no one thought he could (including Dolphin fans). And although I don't know him personally, seems to have kept away from looney Kim Kardashian. He may not get the rushing title but if anyone deserves it, its him.

Too ****ing bad Dansby your not the coach or the boss, better watch out or your ass will be cut, were not ****ing around this year........

I am just saying. When I was little my mom and dad got into a fight and mom ran into the room to call the cops. My dad ran in at the same time and they ran into each other. Since my dad was huge my mom fell over on her side. My dad really didn't mean to knock her over. When the police came my mom said he hit her and had the marks to prove it.... Just saying. It is easy for women to win these media fights. My dad went to jail after that. I don't believe ****.

Without going into too much detail - I have seen how the system can have a bias to start with. I lost my Father in part to this.

But this really has no bearing on this. CJ was cut for this and the fact that he didn't perform up to expectations and he wanted to walk on the line. He gets a talk from his boss and proceeds to do his Twitter page picture with the "No F's", etc. etc. like a teenager.

I hope he turns it around but he hasn't shown he has learned anything yet.

Dansby and others don't get the concept that the standard for behavior is a little higher than "he doesn't drink or smoke" or "we've seen worse".

My point was people can and will lie to get ahead. Just researching Lozoda last night I am not surprised by this and let's just say I would not be surprised by anything. She is not a rational being. As far as Stu and his connections locally I think we both know less then 24hrs after the incident you can't get much info. As it stands right now he hasn't been charged remember inn Florida as arrest is a complaint and only a State Attorney can file a charge.

How, based on a superficial google search, did you come to believe that Evelyn Lozada is crazy enough to give herself a 3 inch gash on the forehead so that she can claim that her husband beat her? What exactly did you find that convinced that she is the lying one, rather than it being a situation where he did something that he's already been legally convicted of having done in the past?

Also, yeah Stu Weinstein can find out a lot in 24 hours. He can talk to the police men that were at the scene. He probably saw the pictures of the wound. He probably even caught a peek at Lozada's taped and sworn evidence.

i don't know where her cut is on her forehead but i think if you're going to headbutt someone you hit with the part of the head just above the hairline or the crown. anywhere else and i'm cautioned by instinct the procedure will almost certainly hurt me. that would explain why she has a visible mark and he doesn't. however, she may in fact be dumb enough to lead a strike with her forehead. can't argue against that.

I don't understand how people can casually say it would be "out of character" for Chad Johnson to be guilty of domestic violence when he has already been convicted and put on probation for domestic violence in the past. Actually, that kind of strikes me as very in character.

when you quote my opinion about one thing with an apparent rebuttal attempt but on a different topic, i am uncertain how to proceed, or whether or not i should try.
