they basically were laughing at us on nfl total access tonight...just disgusting...and there was a lot of pointing the finger at ireland for being a real dishonest jerk...
We were expecting Ireland to get fired and didn't want Carl Peterson to step in...both have a bad reputation around the league but Peterson has at least done a little something in the league, although is good picks are few and far between for a 20 year body of work.

Even if Ireland came out publicly and said what his plan was (which Im sure he is smart enough not to do), not everyone would agree its a good plan....so no matter what people will always be unhappy
Well you tell everyone you're keeping Yeremiah Bell, that his a tough competitor and one of your key guys...then you wait till the Jets sign thier safety and Cincy re-signs Nelson and release Bell so he has no where to go...yeah, Ireland has a bad reputation and it's only getting worse. That's not the way you do business.

Without getting into my opinion on the whole Ross/Ireland situation, if this is true, and it is actually several players and front office members, not just one of each, then this really has become the nightmare scenario. If this is how the organization feels, then they are between a rock and a hard place right now. Ross, and anyone else who has his ear, would then need to decide if they just ride with Ireland and hope he gets it together, keep him for now but override him on personnel decisions, or can him and hope that there is someone out there who not only has all the makings of an excellent GM, but can also prepare for both the draft and Miami's individual team needs, all in about 40 days time.
I'm not one to bash or call names, but I will say at this point it simply appears that Jeff Ireland is in way over his head, a prime example of "Peter's Principle". And if none of it's true, it seems to have reached a point where the perception of Ireland is simply not redeemable anyway. What a mess, I feel bad for Philbin and the staff, I hope they get a fair chance.
What a bummer. I'm 37, been a fan since 1982, everything in my life is great, great wife, wonderful young daughter, I retired 3 years ago so no long days or stress from work. All the important things are good, but I was really hoping to see the Dolphins win a Super Bowl with my dad, and he isn't getting any younger.

Fire Ireland and promote Brian Gaine to interim GM (avoid Rooney rule violation). Next season do a full search and if Gaine proves himself in the draft and season he'd the front runner.
I have to admit that I have supported Ireland. For the most part his drafts post tuna have been solid. The Reggie bush trade paid dividends this year and Matt Moore turned out to be above average. However the perception of the franchise amongst the media,players and fans has been severely damaged. Now we can sit here and say Espn hates us but it's not just them it's the nfl network it's Ryan Clarke it's simply everywhere. To be honest I have fought the realization that Jeff Ireland needs to be fired, if for nothing else allowing the franchise that he runs to be perceived justly or not as a joke ,but he needs to go!

One way or another, it has become crystal clear that Jeff Ireland's presence is impacting the organization in a severely negative way. Ross has to take notice and fire him at some point unless he doesn't care at all about how this organization is perceived. Ross selling outright is the ultimate dream scenario, but I'm trying to be somewhat realistic.
