David Boston is the real deal

You said it (and I'm not talking about him creeping up on Booker).

IF booker continues to look as lethargic as he did last night. I'd move him to the slot. If your a #1 or a #2 you better be out there fighting those db's for the ball. I don't judge a wr solely on drops alone. But if you look and play like you don't want to be out there, don't waste my time (as a fan I cant accept complacency sp?)

It seems people are overlooking Bostons ability to block on running plays. He is a huge guy and can come inside to block an OLB or SS on outside runs or on cutbacks. Being that Linehan uses 3 WR sets, Boston would play the slot even if he passed Booker on the depth chart, just for his size and ability to block down.
unfortunately we haven't seen how effective he'll be at this blocking for our RBs since he hasn't really played with the first-team offense.

**(if he HAS, i apologize that i needed to be corrected, but viewing our first-team rushing yardage that doesn't say much them for Boston's blocking ability).

i agree with you. Booker looked lazy or tired (kind of like how chambers looked last year).

Booker needs to step it up (much like McMIke) if he wants to keep his roster position. I do think Booker will turn the fire up a little bit when its regular season though.

By all means, let's bench Chambers, too. He was just as much in control of the near interception on the poor pass Frerotte sent his way as Booker was on the underthrown ball that BOOKER DID IN FACT GO UP AND FIGHT FOR.

I know "fight" is subjective. But that db was smaller than booker and was behind him, PROBOWLERS should exude more physicallity than that. Even without that play. Booker was playing like something else was on his mind. Oh yeah, as for your "let's bench Chambers, too" statement. Let's try not to justify your position by making a intentionally outlandish analogy about a player that has nothing to do with my sentiments....

Jimmy James is using your logic to prove a point - to show you that if we reacted like that (what you said) after each performance, none of our starters would be playing.

Last year Chambers took a lot of plays off and didn't show 100% effort. does that mean we should bump him back to 2nd or 3rd string? no, just means that his head wasn't in the game, maybe he was frustrated with how bad we were, who knows?

at any rate its on the preseason so it officially doesn't count yet. I think Booker will be fine come regular season, but he needs to put his head in the game. He will be fine.

OK, fair enough. But my initial post was boston's play THIS preseason vs. Booker's not chambers. I am not nieve enough to think that every wr in the league doesnt' take plays off. But looking at the game this morning his body language was dissapointing to see and imo it ooked liked Boston was more assertive in going after balls and trying to force the action instead of letting it come to you. Booker is a verteran and has accomplished a lot in this league and he very well may turn "it" on once the light come on. but, in again just my op., Booker hasn't looked like the booker for chicago since he got traded here, am i ready to bench booker today? of course not. BUT if this lethargic trend continues I would shake up the depth chart. with a new regime NO ONE's position on the depth chart should be written in stone...

Its GREAT to see DB back to old form its just a matter of time before he unseats Booker. With the way CC is playen maybe he becomes a #1,the talent is there.

As long as Boston stays healthy, he'll be a receiving force to be reckoned with.

Chambers has been playing well the last two games, I don't know what this is all about.

Really?

1) Knees/injury prone (you mentioned that)
2) Takes substances banned by the NFL
3) Assaults senior citizens
4) Has an attitude problem (see: Chargers suspension)

You *can* knock Boston for much more than his knees.

He didn't field a single pass from Gus, right? I think that would be the difference.[/QUOTE

//Do you need to be reminded that this man puts on a DOLPHINS uniform and represents YOUR favorate team???? ..to be critical of a player is one thing..to trash him every chance you get?? WOW!! Your an insult:shakeno:

I think Boston's really proved he can play this preseason. He may not be ready to start yet but he'll make some big plays for us this season.

Link?

Hopefully he will be used against the first string next week, if he's a no.3 receiver on the depth, or I hope he is now, then he should play some against the starting D. I remember reading something about Boston playing opposite Chambers before the Jax game, so what happened then? We're not using the three receiver at all? Maybe it should be used atleast once.
