David Cornwell’s statement regarding Jonathan Martin

To who? I think it was Philbin who said that. Why believe him? I'm not saying believe Martin or believe anybody. I just don't know why it would be taken as gospel.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9...philbin-regarding-richie-incognito-harassment

Offensive lineman Jonathan Martin did not approach Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin to voice his concerns about instances of alleged harassment, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

The sources were Martin's team...

Yet Philbin's timeline has already been called into question by the report about Ireland getting a call from Martin's agent.

I don't see why the Dolphins doing something "stupid" in this situation is dismissed as an impossibility here.

Well, point taken, but as Skape points out, it was never taken to Philbin directly.

To be honest, thinking about this... I also think you're right that the Martin camp is maybe panicking here. What they released today really wasn't any more explosive than what was previously released. If anything, it looks like they're actually going on the defensive, talking about Martin's time at Stanford.

Damn altar boys should have come forward sooner they could have stopped the fondling lol

Are you honestly comparing sexually abused CHILDREN to a 24 year old NFL PLAYER???

You have no idea what you are talking about. The KKK can walk right down the middle of your street carrying signs with the n word on it and not one single person can do a thing about it legally. The Westboro Baptist church can protest a military funeral carrying signs that say God hates ***s and not one person can do anything about it. The only time the law can take action for hate crime against someone is if they actually commit a physical crime against a person and can prove they did it because of bias. Personally I think hate laws are a complete joke. What difference does it make if you commit a crime against someone? A crime is a crime.

I agree with your last statement on so called hate crime but your wrong there are restrictions. There are obsenity laws and there are still restrictions to some degree on protest like distance.
I think you may want to read up on law more because its not as free wheeling as you believe.
Also the KKK could never walk down the middle of my street because Im on an army base where there are actual rules of conduct, they would be turned away.
They also have to get permits and so on.

Truly, the only poetic justice to come from this would be Ireland being fired.

Such a messed up talent evaluator to spend a second round pick on a glorified baby and then depend on him to play the most important position on the OL when he is physically and mentally the weakest link.

If Ireland loses his job over Martin, I say poetic justice. He foisted this steaming sack of crap on the whole organization.

His idea of a good draft pick and a good player. Uh huh.

A street-wise friend once gave me some everlasting advice: NEVER DOUBLE DOWN ON A BAD DECISION, EXPECTING IT TO GET BETTER.

He called me a fool more than once for this -- and I finally learned. He was right.

Never double down on a bad decision -- be it a sandwich you ordered or a business decision, etc. Take one bite and throw the sandwich or plate of food away, if it's no good. Cut the decision off at the knees, if it's bad. Better a penny than a pound lost.

Picking Martin: idiotic. Doubling down on Martin's poor play and persona and expecting him to solidify LT: Mind-numbingly, colossally, epically idiotic. Organization destroying dumbness.

Ireland was in over his head. And nothing makes that clearer than Joni Martin. And so few playmakers at skill positions, and poor depth across the board.

It doesn't say that. It doesn't even imply that.

That is what was said on ESPN. I can't find the video now, but that is what was said. "It was confirmed by Martin that..." I expressly remember hearing Schefter or one of those dweebs uttering this words in relation to this story.

No he is comparing the ridiculous notion that because Martin didn't report to Management fast enough, he must be wrong or up to something. Its called blaming the victim.

Not really. Some of the dynamics could be similar such as victim menatality but I think the sexual abuse is somewhat worse.
I will contest though that none of us are in in a priests lockerrrom so we cannot get into the mentality of if it was meant in jest or not.

My question is if(when) this goes to court is Martin going to have to reveal the texts he sent to Incognito and other players. There is a record of those texts somewhere and it would shed light on the context of the conversation.

I don't have a good read on this whole Martin/Incognito thing yet but I do think I have a good read on Philbin's character and I'll bet you dollars to donuts that he didn't stand up there and lie. He may have chosen his words very carefully, at worst, but I'm going out on a limb and saying he did not lie.

Give up. You are getting ridiculous now. These situations are not even in the same multiverse.
